Carmen Dell’Orefice was the heroine in Vogue’s 1946 “Fables Retold” feature. Anne-Marie Mallik, “an unknown, beautiful schoolgirl,” was cast as Alice alongside seasoned actors in Jonathan Miller’s adaptation of the classic. Lord Snowdon was on hand to document them.
