The Fashion Set Was Out in Full Force at the Fleur Room’s Halloween Party

Last night, the Fleur Room—the new nighttime hot spot perched atop the Moxy Hotel—was transformed into the Garden of Good and Evil. Musician Ian Mellencamp, model RJ King, Ezra J. William, and actor Julio Torres all took turns posing in front of a massive tree of knowledge planted at the center of the room, a collaboration between design firm the Manscapers and DJs The Misshapes, who also worked the turntables. So did RuPaul’s Drag Race season 10 winner Aquaria, who vogued in a delightful Daffy Duck getup inspired by the ostrich feathers that flew down Saint Laurent’s spring 2018 runway.

A few feet away, designer and cohost Christian Siriano held court in a high-fashion spin on the most original (and biblical) of power couples. “My boyfriend and I wanted to be Adam and Eve,” Siriano said. “But, like, an haute couture Adam and Eve.” That meant an elaborate corseted creation scattered with fig leaves, crystal jewels, and red apples still on the vine. Peeking out from underneath a crown of foliage and waist-grazing curls (glam courtesy of makeup artist Christopher Ardoff), Siriano quipped: “I make gowns all day, so Halloween is the one time of year that I get to wear one!”

Glamazons and ghouls alike twirled beneath the Insta-famous domed disco ball—which Fleur Room creative director Angelo Bianchi revealed had hung at Vertigo, a glitzy nightclub in 1980s Los Angeles where Jack Nicholson, Cher, and Susan Sarandon once danced. As the night crept towards dawn, Madonna’s “Like a Prayer” played while DJ Ty Sunderland (disguised as a wicked-chic Cruella de Vil) kept the party going until an ungodly hour, even for Halloween.
