Photo: Karen Kristian1/69These are our wedding invitations designed by Greg. After our first visit to the island, we were so inspired by all the beautiful plant and wildlife. Every drawing on the invitation is an animal or plant native to Kamalame Cay.
Photo: Karen Kristian2/69Our gold wedding bands were handmade by my parents’ best friend. Both wedding bands are made out of the same piece of gold, which is a Greek tradition.

Photo: Karen Kristian17/69We stayed in the Hew family house for the week (the owners of the island’s house)—it was truly our home away from home. The house is very much the same aesthetic as my family home, so it felt like the Bahamian version of the house I grew up in!

Photo: Karen Kristian19/69My Aquazzura shoes—my favorite part of my wedding look! They matched all the little pom-pom details throughout the wedding day!

Photo: Karen Kristian27/69There were so many tiny buttons on my dress—it took so long to get it on!
Photo: Karen Kristian28/69My beautiful mom and Olivia helping me into my dress.

Photo: Karen Kristian34/69My favorite part of my dress was the back with the simple train and covered buttons.
Photo: Karen Kristian35/69I love this photo of my handsome groom. I gave him this vintage Breitling watch that he opened on the morning of our wedding.
Photo: Karen Kristian36/69Greg and his groomsmen sharing a Samson Special before the ceremony. We gifted our wedding party these amazing Warby Parker sunglasses, which looked so handsome on all the guys!
Photo: Karen Kristian37/69Greg’s beautiful cousins, Hannah and Emma, ready to distribute rice to throw after the ceremony and bombonieres, which are Jordan Almonds, another Greek tradition.

Photo: Karen Kristian49/69One of the funny moments in the ceremony.
Photo: Karen Kristian50/69Olivia conducting the Greek tradition of the Stefana. The Stefana symbolizes the joining of the two souls and the creation of a new household, in which the bride and groom are charged to rule wisely and with full responsibility to each other, and the ribbon on the crowns symbolizes unity.

Photo: Karen Kristian60/69Husband and wife!
Photo: Karen Kristian61/69We had one long serpentine table in the coconut grove for our dinner. My mom and I had this vision for the dinner from our first trip to the island.
Photo: Karen Kristian62/69We kept the table super simple. We had sea grape leaves as chargers below each plate and tons of island foliage down the table with votives. My mom had these beautiful custom napkins made with a mint green pom-pom trim. Each guests’ name was calligraphed on a tag tied to a small snow globe with a palm tree and sand from the island on the inside. My dad and Greg made each one by hand! It was the most special keepsake for each of our guests!
Photo: Karen Kristian63/69The table was exactly what we had envisioned—this glowing jungle evening beneath the palm tree canopy!
Photo: Karen Kristian64/69Greg and I cut a beautiful island garland and welcomed all of our guests into dinner!
Photo: Karen Kristian65/69I loved how the massive paper lanterns would sway in the island breeze.
Photo: Karen Kristian66/69Our one long dinner table—it was like a massive family dinner for all of our favorite people!
Photo: Karen Kristian67/69Greg and I laughing at the incredible and touching toasts throughout the night.
Photo: Karen Kristian68/69Greg and I shared our first dance on the beach. Our dear friend, Jonathon Linaberry (The Bones of JR Jones) performed one of his songs, “Hearts Racing,” which has been our song for years. It was such a gift to have him perform it live for us!
Photo: Karen Kristian69/69The sign of a successful night! Shoes off—we were all still on the dance floor until the early morning!
