1/8Just walked in, I grabbed that huge bag of SkinnyPop and started working on the script with my publicist, Alla. Making sure everything was just right for such a big night.
2/8Makeup artist Rebecca Restrepo is such a genius. I feel like she knows exactly what to do with my face, and I really never have to give her any direction. She always makes me look so effortlessly chic no matter what. I love a dewy eye—subtle enough for the day, but able to transition into something that feels sexxxy at night. Dewy eyes are just right, my dudes! Thank you, Surratt Beauty!
3/8The CFDA rehearsal in the middle of the day at the stunning Brooklyn Museum felt so dope. It’s such a pretty venue, and the room got so much light because the museum had windows on the ceiling where you can see the sky. It felt special.
4/8My look from Thom Browne. Sometimes you put on great clothes and they just feel right. Putting on beautifully made clothes is like seeing an old friend that you’ve known forever: “Ohhh, hello, YOU.” Every piece of fabric, the color even falls right into place. Needless to say I had been counting down the days to wear this outfit. Thank you, Thom Browne!
5/8My headpiece is from Jennifer Behr because I am obsessed with her and own so many of her pieces. Also that is my “Dont Fu*k With Me” lighter from A Shop of Things on Etsy, and this is a big-ass log of Palo Santo that I also picked up on Etsy from a store called SoulsticeJourney. I love a vibe, especially in my dressing room. I have so many lighters and sticks of Palo Santo around my apartment. Y’all should come over. Also shoutout to TSD Hair Extensions!
6/8Sarah Slutsky is just the best stylist ever. She listens to me and inspires me to practice self-care through feeling good about what I wear. I genuinely feel like Sarah understands what I am going for with my looks and that when I put on my clothes I want to feel moved. Working with her feels like a true collaboration. Sarah snagged some flowers from one of the tables and we decided to throw them in the pocket of my suit jacket. Good styling comes in the details, and I was just tickled by how fun this detail is.
7/8All my jewelry was from Jennifer Fisher, who was nominated. I love the way Jennifer sees shapes and translates them into fully wearable rings; rings that pop while still managing to be playful and subtle at the same time. It’s a dance to balance all of those qualities, and somehow Jennifer always does it.
8/8It takes a village, and I really, really love my village.
