Liv Perez Wore Elie Saab to Marry Alex Nachum in an Oasis of Wildflowers at Soho Farmhouse

To that end, the couple worked closely with Hannah Quartly at Soho Farmhouse, catching up for weekly brainstorms to decide on all the unique touches they wanted to bring. “We loved working directly with the venue, especially because so many of our elements were from the farm itself,” Liv says. “Our chuppah was made on property, all of our florals were from gardens around the farm, and the chefs on-site made our wedding cake. It was the most ideal experience to be so close to every detail and an absolute dream to see it come to life.”

For the welcome dinner, horses and a swan who had just had babies on the property roamed the field behind as friends and family gave speeches. “We added our own touches, like mini Don Julio 1942 bottles as seating cards and a tented reception with disco balls and an incredible band that had our guests dancing all night long,” Liv says. “But our biggest goal was to complement the existing beauty of the property.”

Liv and Alex worked with stylist Thomas Christos Kikis to help bring their wedding-wardrobe dreams to life. “I always dreamt of bringing the brands that have been so integral to my career into the weekend to pay homage to them,” Liv says. “Chanel was one of the first brands I ever worked with, Alberta Ferretti is a brand my mom loves to collects and showed me as a young girl, and Elie Saab has been my dream dress designer since I was young.”

The bride wanted looks that felt timeless but were also specific to this special moment in her life. “I didn’t want to let the idea of being timeless stop me from wearing things that felt like me as I am now, in this moment,” Liv explains. “We definitely had a lot of fun, from a backless Jean-Louis Scherrer gown for my reception to a Rodarte sequined mini for the after-party. Fashion is my love language, and I loved being able to incorporate tokens of my gratitude to my loved ones into my wardrobe.” One of Kikis and Liv’s favorite looks was her welcome-dinner dress: an archival look from Alberta Ferretti that had never been worn. “I wore it for my mom, who first made me fall in love with fashion,” Liv says.

Kikis also worked with Alex on his looks. He wanted to bring a British designer into the mix and landed on a Thom Sweeney suit for Friday night. For the wedding, he wore a Ralph Lauren Purple Label black tuxedo and changed into a classic Ralph Lauren white tuxedo for the reception. “It was a really collaborative experience, where we were sending each other looks weekly until we found those moments that felt so true to us,” Liv says.

The same considered approach was taken when deciding on the location for the actual ceremony. “When Alex, my mom, and I visited Soho Farmhouse last year in August to start planning the wedding, we biked past an incredible meadow one morning on the far end of the property,” Liv remembers. “It was completely overgrown, and you could barely walk through it, but it had a sweeping view of the entire farm alongside a running river.”

The team loved the idea of hosting the ceremony there and, the next morning, planted seeds that they hoped would bloom over the next year. “When we got to Soho Farmhouse a few days before our wedding, it was everything we dreamed of and more,” Liv says. “The wildflowers had bloomed and were so tall, and our wedding planner mowed a curved aisle through it that led straight to our ceremony, right in the middle of an oasis.”

A string quartet played for arriving guests, and signature cocktails were served before the bride and groom were married under a chuppah filled with florals from around the property. “We felt so calm,” Liv recalls. “It was all so meant to be. We asked our guests to not have their phones with them, and it was the most amazing feeling to look out at our circle and see their beautiful faces.”

The bride walked down to Lana del Rey’s “Margaret,” while Alex made his entrance to Daft Punk’s “Something About Us.” “We had so much fun making the ceremony feel like us and really telling the story of our families coming together,” Liv says. Each of their seven siblings wrote a custom blessing with a different theme for the couple that was read during the ceremony. “It made it feel so intimate and unique,” Liv says. “We loved getting to include our entire family in this very special moment.”

After the ceremony, the newlyweds went back to their farmhouse to spend a few moments alone together. Their families and friends then joined them to sign the ketubah, and then they went into a tent in the center of a field to have dinner and dance the night away.

The couple did their first dance to Bonnie Raitt’s “Thank You.” Soon after, espresso martinis were served and the party got started. “We got up on stage to dance with the band and had way too much fun,” Liv remembers. “We ended the night in the pub on the property, where our friend Pedro Cavaliere DJ’ed and we danced until the sun came up.”
