To commemorate what would have been the 2020 Met Gala on May 4—the event has been postponed indefinitely this year—Vogue and Billy Porter have teamed up on a new fashion challenge that aims to bring the ball’s fashion-forward spirit to life. The #MetGalaChallenge, which is on now through May 3, calls for Instagram users to re-create their favorite Met Gala red carpet looks at home. (For all the details on how to enter, click here.) Fans of the annual gala need only look to the past and revive an iconic outfit that has graced the stairs of the Met museum—which ensemble you replicate, and what you use to make it, is entirely up to you. Select uploads will be highlighted by Vogue on the first Monday in May.

Looking for inspiration? This list of wild and wonderful possibilities is endless. One could do like Jared Leto did last year and carry a prosthetic version of your own head (papier-mâché might do the trick). The extravagant yellow Guo Pei robe-gown that Rihanna wore in 2015 is also a fantastic option, having prompted a flurry of memes. A good re-creation of it is likely to go viral again. Savvy participants of the challenge might want to win over Billy Porter, who will be helping to pick the winners, with a reimagining of the “Sun God” look he wore last yeast, still one of the most fabulous Met Gala entrances to date. Whatever outfit you end up choosing, be sure to put your own personal spin on it.
