Photo: Robert Fairer1/37We had a fete at the beginning of our wedding weekend at the Palazzo Taverna to welcome our guests. The theme was Liaisons Dangereuses. Here, Joseph and I are in fancy dress.
Photo: Lucy Tanner2/37The table setting at the Palazzo Taverna. The dinner didn't require much production. The natural space already had that opulent and decadent feel that we wanted for the theme.

Photo: Robert Fairer4/37Ricardo and Edgardo, the Aquazzura boys as I love to call them, with Joseph. They were in character the entire evening.
Photo: Robert Fairer5/37Bettina Santo Domingo mastering the art of fancy dressing. I just love the pastel color of her hair, clothing, and makeup. She looks like a box of macaroons from Ladurée!
Photo: Lucy Tanner6/37The colors of the flowers matched the theme perfectly.
Photo: Lucy Tanner7/37Always the most elegant woman in the room, Lady Victoria Getty.
Photo: Lucy Tanner8/37This was bound to happen at some point during the night.
Photo: Robert Fairer9/37Having all of our guests dressed in eighteenth-century costumes made it feel like we were in a moving painting.
Photo: Lucy Tanner10/37Eugenie Niarchos and I in a playful and mischievous Liaisons Dangereuses mood. I had so much fun putting together my costume for Friday evening. It was comfortable, yet sexy.

Photo: Robert Fairer12/37My Schiaparelli Haute Couture wedding dress. I wanted something dramatic!
Photo: Robert Fairer13/37Charlotte Dellal’s wonderful wedding present to me: The perfect wedding shoes. They had a Lesage sun embroidered on each heel, keeping in line with the motif on my dress.
Photo: Robert Fairer14/37Getting ready to go to the church with Alexandre Zouari. He's a real artist who created a chignon in the shape of the sun's rays. It was classic and original at the same time.
Photo: Robert Fairer15/37The ring cushion was a beautiful gift from Schiaparelli that incorporated an embroidered Lesage sun and the same white satin in the dress. It was small and precious like a piece of jewelry.
Photo: Robert Fairer16/37Seconds before walking in the church. My cape had to go in a separate car and was put on right outside. It was all about the cape!

Photo: Lucy Tanner18/37The ceremony booklets were designed by my mother-in-law, Domitilla. The design is based on the della Rovere Crest—her family crest.

Photo: Lucy Tanner22/37The page boys and flower girls wore outfits designed by Joseph’s mother and made by Loretta Caponi, who still makes everything by hand in their shop in Florence.
Photo: Robert Fairer23/37After the ceremony, we all had lunch at Circolo della Caccia. This is our first dance!

Photo: Robert Fairer26/37My bag was such a great present from the amazing Olympia Le-Tan. She used the drawings we had put on our wedding invitation as the center design of my now favorite evening bag.

Photo: Robert Fairer31/37The Spiegeltent—a 1900s circus tent—was a surprise to all of our guests. We had hidden it behind the castle. It was only after walking around the castle that they saw it, complete with its sun façade.

Photo: Robert Fairer33/37Joseph loved my second dress—a Schiaparelli creation inspired by Cher's legendary Bob Mackie look worn to the Met Gala in 1974.

Photo: Robert Fairer35/37Our wedding cake is called Il Robbiano. It was inspired by the Florentine sculptor Luca della Robbia. We loved the meringue, cream, and crown of fresh fruits on the flat cake. I can assure you it tasted as good as it looks!
