New Yorkers will search high and low for a new experience—a new hot spot, a new cocktail, a new performance act—and last night they found a little bit of all three at the season two premiere of Search Party. The dark-comedy series about four self-absorbed twentysomethings who go looking for a classmate gone missing kicked off the new season with an immersive and sensory experience at the Public hotel. In keeping with the theme, unassuming guests found themselves at the center of a murder mystery as theater company Punchdrunk International created a whodunit scenario that served as the entrance to the party.
