There is something about Tabitha Simmons’s footwear that remind me of Warhol’s hand-colored lithographs of shoe designs—always beautiful, mercurial and as colorful as the crew that steps out in them. Cohosting with the serene Lily Aldridge, Tabitha—dressed in a pilgrim-collared Dolce & Gabbana dress—welcomed friends including Poppy Delevigne, Dustin Yellin, Aerin Lauder, and Marina Rust for a perusal of her latest designs over an early afternoon lilac cocktail made with a homemade syrup, elderflower water and vodka—after all, it’s always five o’clock somewhere. Slides in rainbow ribbon and soft suede bows nestled in the townhouse amongst the equally feminine Fox Fodder Farms arrangements of cottage garden flowers. The jewel-toned kitten-heel sling-backs were an insta-hit amongst the crowd and their respective feeds. Cooing over the launch of Tabitha Simmons bridal, many a married guest conjectured bigamy if only to secure the heart-skipping satins, the blush mink slide or the inky velvet Victorian style bootie with grosgrain ribbons.
