Four Dresses, Two Parties, and One Adorable French Bulldog: Inside a Whirlwind New York City Wedding Weekend
Photo: Lucy Cuneo1/50My mom and I went to the flower market on Thursday to pick out the flowers for the ceremony and the peonies for my bouquet. I couldn’t let anyone else do it—it was too fun!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo2/50My fairytale Oscar de La Renta gown for our ceremony Friday morning. It was so light and ethereal and totally comfortable.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo3/50Shoes are my thing—I believe you can never have too many. Here’s my line up for the weekend, which included Manolo Blahnik, Jimmy Choo, Rene Caovilla, Louboutin and more!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo4/50Our french bulldog, Lola, got ready with us in our suite. She was so excited to be a flower girl!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo5/50Vincent Oquendo, my incredible makeup artist, worked with warm pink and soft brown tones for the day of the wedding. And for the lip, I wore Charlotte Tilbury’s Pillow Talk—a shade I wear almost every single day of my life.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo6/50It was important to us that I felt like myself, so here I am touching up the contour with my Nars bronzer palette.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo7/50The amazing teams from Drybar and Blushington helped my family get ready for the wedding. Truly the best in the business!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo8/50My hairstylist Jhonatan Rendon gave me the Rapunzel waves of my dreams. We didn’t do a trial, I just told him that morning to do his usual thing—and he did!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo9/50Taking a minute to myself and relaxing in my Daphne Newman robe before the weekend gets going.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo10/50My something new, these stunning and sparkly Giannico mules that carried me through the entire day. We ended up walking home from the restaurant!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo11/50As a beauty editor, I take fragrance very seriously. I chose Le Labo's Jasmin 17 for the weekend, which the boutique customized with our wedding date. It was perfect.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo12/50My mom and sister helped me into the dress. I am wearing my great-grandmother's charm bracelet, the woman who I was named for, and earrings by Hamra Diamonds.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo13/50Our ridiculously cute nieces and flower girls wearing Zimmerman and matching baby’s breath crowns by Pop Up Florist.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo14/50While the first look wasn’t totally a first look—we helped each other pick out our weekend looks!—I wouldn’t have done it any other way.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo15/50I remember saying to him in the car, “Should I be nervous right now?” because that’s how calm and happy we were. We laughed the whole way to the restaurant.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo16/50In Jewish tradition, upon entering the chuppah, the bride circles her groom seven times, representing the seven days of creation and the seven wedding blessings. I tripped on my dress at the second circle and lost count after the third, but it was so casual and fun that none of it mattered.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo17/50Lola sat like an angel posing for photos the entire ceremony. She knew exactly what was happening and loved every second of it.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo18/50The moment he smashed the glass and we became husband and wife!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo19/50We were married underneath my grandfather’s tallis and surrounded by jasmine bushes, which filled the whole restaurant with a sweet and reminiscent scent—my childhood home in Miami has a garden filled with them.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo20/50We all sipped rosé champagne and aperol spritz’s during the brunch. The only decorations were a few Urban Stems arrangements which fit seamlessly into the room—it really felt like our living room!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo21/50My something borrowed, blue, and old (and sparkly!) were Erstwhile Cheap Replica Handbags’s Deco and Edwardian rings. I loved the idea of wearing pieces from another time.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo22/50Our nephews, Zac and Xander, looked so cute in their matching seersucker suits!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo23/50Since it rained all morning (good luck!) we took photos after the ceremony. The pressure was off and we enjoyed every second of it.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo24/50Walking around the charming streets of the West Village provided the perfect backdrop for photos. We’re just a few streets over from where we had our first date, Morandi.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo25/50Swept off my feet, literally.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo26/50For our welcome reception at Greca, I wore a Grecian-inspired slip dress and paired it with these sequined snake-wrap heels from Rene Caovilla.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo27/50Our siblings toasted (or should I say roasted!) us Friday night, and we laughed and cried so hard.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo28/50In between bites of Baklava with my best friend Lindsay Eskenazi.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo29/50A few details from the weekend, including a pair of Rebecca de Ravenel earrings and a series of fun Polaroids—Vincent takes a shot or two of every single client he works with!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo30/50Prepping for Saturday night’s party: I had three of my glam team on me, and we all burst out laughing when Beyonce’s "Diva" came up on Spotify.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo31/50Walking into our dinner at Santina and feeling like a Disney princess.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo32/50The tourists, the sirens, the wind, we didn't care. We were just so happy.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo33/50Running around the Meatpacking District with my new husband!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo34/50I am obsessed with Mackenzie Childs, and we used the brand’s pitchers and vases to hold the delicate white daisies and bouvardia.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo35/50Posing with my Vogue girls, Negar Mohammadi and Mackenzie Wagoner.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo36/50With one of my closest friends, Christian Bachrach; we have been inseparable since middle school.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo37/50In addition to the epic Santina menu, we served Carbone’s veal parm and spicy rigatoni—favorite two restaurants in one!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo38/50Since most of our guests didn’t get to attend the actual wedding ceremony, my father-in-law made us reenact it for everyone during his speech. Hilarious!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo39/50Listening to my dad bring down the room. He is the funniest and best public speaker I know.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo40/50Milk Bar cake is our absolute favorite dessert. We fed each other a piece but skipped the smashing into the face tradition—do you see that contour?
Photo: Lucy Cuneo41/50I started to tear up at the Gelato cart when I turned to him and said, "We are going to remember this night for the rest of our lives!"
Photo: Lucy Cuneo42/50After dinner, guests grabbed a cup of Gelato and boarded trolleys—we didn’t tell anyone where we were going. It was a total fun surprise!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo43/50I took off the Marchesa skirt when we walked into the bar—time for dancing!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo44/50Our first dance was to "Danny’s Song" by Loggins and Messina. We heard it once years ago and decided it would forever be ours. My grandmother, on the right, was on the dance floor with us until the early hours of the morning!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo45/50Holding tight during the hora.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo46/50Aubrey worked with our DJ to customize the playlist for the evening. He played everything from Whitney Houston to Drake, and it was so much fun.
Photo: Lucy Cuneo47/50Vincent came to the bar to help me do a quick change. He added a blue glitter eyeshadow and a matte liquid liner by Maybelline. It literally lasted until 5 a.m.!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo48/50I changed into this feathery Attico minidress, slipped on a sequin Jennifer Behr crown and a pair of beaded stilettos, and was ready to party!
Photo: Lucy Cuneo49/50We lit a bunch of Diptyque candles at the bar to make the space feel (and smell!) like home. A few hours in, we changed into matching custom Nike sneakers that had my new initials (and his) on them—a gift from my BFF!
