“My parents live in Boston, so it’s all about what to wear for the long drive, which I have down to a science: Re/Done jeans, my Maison Galet cow-print loafers, a tunic-length cashmere sweater, and my enVie heArtwork fur-lined parka, which, if this Thanksgiving is anything like last year, I will be wearing pretty much the whole time.”

“I’m heading to Paris and need a travel outfit as chic as the destination. Luckily looking at stylish A-listers on a daily basis has given me a few hints as to how to master the airport ensemble. The coat is essential, as you’ll need this throughout your trip, so make it a good one. I have been loving the tailored, masculine styles like those sported and designed by Victoria Beckham for their versatility. As for the other components, I’m more of an under- versus overdressed person and like to create a look marrying elements of Kanye and Kim Kardashian West, Rihanna, and Amal Clooney: a hoodie from Yeezy, extended hem cotton tees from Fear of God, and shredded jeans from J Brand with whichever sneaker I’m loving at the moment. This week, it’s my Yeezy 950 duck boots in Peyote, which give me height, traction, and a solid slipper 35,000 feet in the air.”

“I take airport apparel incredibly seriously. It’s always some version of an oversize knit and compression leggings, or more recently, shrunken sweatpants—love Hanes boys-fit—worn high-waisted. I then pair that with a cheeky pair of contrasting socks or a worn-in varsity pair and change into compression socks once boarded. Although my look could come off messy and haphazard—I am a proponent of the good old days when everyone dressed up for a flight—but I like to think my current flight uniform looks decisive. Especially topped off by a great fur coat.”

“I’m pretty sure I’ve put together my ultimate airport outfit. Rachel Comey Cava loafers that easily slip on and off as I go through security. Black ribbed knit leggings from Laain—comfort factor—and a pale blue Patti button-down by Acne that I’ve owned forever; it wrinkles less on the flight than it does in my suitcase. All this topped by Lauren Manoogian’s white Capote coat, which doubles as a cozy alpaca blanket. I’ll also be bringing along my new Lissy Verkade silk sleep mask for the red-eye back.”

“This year, my Thanksgiving transit outfit and mode of transportation will be a major upgrade from my sweatshirt-clad treks in a muffler-dragging Lucky Star bus that I used to take to Boston. I’ll be traveling a shorter distance and will be taking the Metro-North train to New Haven—aka the home of the Gilmore Girls. I will be channeling my inner Rory in a look that screams early 2000s Yale in a turtleneck and flares—maybe some square-toe boots if I’m feeling sassy. Prepared to be impressed, relatives!”

“The only airport style worth emulating in my book comes from Chanel’s Spring 2016 show set in a mock airport terminal. Anna Ewers’s knit combo is relatively easy to re-create with cashmere track pants, a patterned tee, and a cozy sweater tied around the waist. My only edit would be to replace the sandals with comfy socks and slip-on sneakers.”

“I’m not actually traveling this Thanksgiving so I’ll save this for next month, but once again it’s Jane Birkin for the win. There’s this amazing picture of her with Serge Gainsbourg at Orly Airport on Christmas in a perfect long black coat over a miniskirt. That coat, the skirt, the giant hoop earrings, the loafers, the knee socks—genius. Plus a handsome traveling companion on one arm and, of course, a book. Sure, she’s carrying a copy of_Babar_, but after all, turbulence necessitates a lighter read.”

“I’m taking my travel style cue straight from Irina Shayk: She showed up to set yesterday bundled up in an all-white Sherpa coat and walked out wearing a cozy shearling coat that cinched at the waist—turns out it was a reversible coat. Topped off with sneakers and my favorite pair of worn-in jeans, I now have double the mileage in this one ensemble. In the words of Irina herself: ‘Isn’t it the best?’ ”
