Sies Marjan, The Webster, and RxArt Celebrate Walter Robinson

“I don’t usually paint fashion models,” said the artist Walter Robinson at The Webster in Miami yesterday afternoon. “I usually paint much more dramatic imagery. This took me longer than I’d like to admit.” He was speaking of the painting he created in collaboration with Sies Marjan’s Sander Lak for the nonprofit RxArt. The work—a sweeping, neo-Pop portrayal of the girls in Lak’s show painted on a pink polka-dot children’s bedsheet—was made to support Diane Brown’s charity, which works to make children’s hospitals warmer, less frightening spaces.
