Giles: Spring 2008 Ready-to-Wear

[Miranda Joyce] It's romantic.

It's a sort of fresh and natural contouring

and no hard lines, and just beauty, really.

Giles is great, he's so talented.

He has a universe, like a, his own world, you know?

[Eugene Souleiman] All the girls are gonna be

really different.

I'm tryin' to, maybe make her hair look

slightly more medieval.

There's kind of an old kind of feeling,

old romantic kind of feeling to this look as well.

[Raquel Zimmermann] He makes it something very special.

He likes, you know, a grown up woman.

Confident woman, and you're gonna see

in this collectsion it's quite sexy.

Design now, lets say, is very high.

And, but also he's a really down to earth guy,

so everyone loves him, wants to support him.

So its sort of double-edged sword, let's say.

It's always great to see somebody take something

as that's sort of already out there,

but let me know you a different, more polished way to do it.

His clothes are beautifully made.

And, yeah, they've got all this wit,

this imagination, surprise.

It's not about rebellion and punk attitude or outrage.

[Michael Fink] I think the color range

is extraordinary, very feminine.

I love how he balances back and forth

between total ultra-feminine forms and shades,

and then he gives you a jarring print

just to shake it up a little bit.

The dead Bambi print is an example.

Or so totally outrageously decorated with latex,

you know, it's just, it all works in his world.

[Cathy Horyn] Those people in his studio work so hard,

and they do everything by hand.

All those flowers, all that decoration was done

by lots of people on that staff doing it by hand.

[Michael Fink] Well, the creativity here is just,

I don't know where he gets it,

it's a new adventure each season,

and this was another beautiful, beautiful collectsion.
