Michael Kors: Fall 2010 Ready-to-Wear

I thought it was one of his best ever.

I really, really loved it.

(uptempo instrumental pop rock)

Three quarters of my closet are filled with Michael Kors,

so I'm just so excited to see his new collectsion.

Oh, I love Michael. (laughs) I love Michael's clothes,

I wear them all the time.

With the winter Olympics in full swing in Vancouver,

it's almost as though Michael Kors

is staging his own winter sports event in Bryant Park.

But of course there's a lot more to this story than that.

(instrumental rock music)

I've been collectsing photographs for years,

and one of my favorites is

an amazing picture of Lisa Taylor that Arthur Elgort took.

She's in a convertible. She's in fabulous knitwear.

Her hair is blowing, and she's kind of just caught.

I love the whole idea that something can be that sexy,

but sporty at the same time.

Michael has the great ability

to take pieces that you already own,

that you have in your closet, that you love,

but he just makes them more luscious

and more that you want to wear them.

You go, why doesn't mine look like that?

(rock music)

This is about a really fabulous wardrobe

that you could wear if you wanted to go to Stadt.

You could wear it to work, you could wear it out to dinner.

There's no boning, no bustiers, none of that.

If I see another cocktail dress, I could just scream.

(rock music)

[Tim Blanks] The crinkled fabrics were quite avant-garde.

Every designer needs to sort of step up

and modernize their look, and fabrication

is the natural way to do that.

[Tim Blanks] What is it with the articulated elbows?

We have all forgotten that sportswear started,

the word sport was part of it.

Hopefully no one's going to be skiing

in one of these crushed cashmere coats,

but I like the idea that there is that utility in it.

It's utility for Park Avenue.

Mounds of fur and glamor. That's what he does.

He was unapologetic for being who he is

without any, you know, shame, any worries, you know,

he likes gold, he likes camel.

[Man] The purses. Those fur clutches were gorgeous.

Michael makes you want to feel blessed and happy

to have a little bit of luxury in your life.

[Tim Blanks] And what are your winter sports?

Oh my god, my winter sports is leaving the winter,

and going to where it's warm.

I am one of those people that lives the winter fantasy

in my brain, but the minute I actually get

in the middle of it, I'm like,

get me to St. Bart's, I gotta get out of here.
