Last night, Alison Brie served as a presenter at the 2019 MTV VMAs in Newark, New Jersey. Alongside rapper French Montana, she handed out the Best Latin Award to Rosalía and J Balvin at the 36th-annual ceremony. In the lead-up to music’s big night, the actor captured the getting-ready process, from her final fittings with stylish Erin Walsh to a morning boxing session, then all the way through to the red carpet.
The day of the VMAs, Brie began her morning with a workout at Rumble Boxing in Manhattan. “I like to start every event day (and every regular day!) with a workout,” she said. Then, it was time to head back to her hotel to begin the getting-ready process, where makeup artist Beau Nelson and hairstylist Rebekah Forecast worked on her glam. Afterwards, she slipped into a plunging-V dress by Elie Saab that had dazzling sequins all over it, accessorizing the look with an Alaïa bag and Margo Siegel rings. “Time for a quick hotel-lobby photo shoot—we only crashed into one waiter,” she said before heading out the door.
A quick car ride across the pond—to New Jersey, that is—and it was time for Brie to hit the step and repeat, where she bonded with Diplo and the MTV Moon Man, who she admitted got “a little fresh” with her. Post-show, after fulfilling her presenting duties, she slipped into something a tad comfier—a Bill Murray–themed sweater no less—ordered some room service (fries, obviously) and called it a night.
