The scandalous yet persistent naked dressing trend has continued to dominate red carpets. Season after season, award show after award show, press junket upon press junket, it’s been all about the sexy and sheer. Nicole Kidman has dabbled in the naked dress, but last night, she made it feel particularly fresh.
Stepping out for the premiere of Margot’s Got Money Troubles, Kidman wore a look from the Schiaparelli fall 2026 show: a skin-tight two-piece where the zip up-top and pencil skirt feature white fish scales down the front like a bib, and black sheer sleeves and panels with a stocking-effect. She paired the look with strappy black Gianvito Rossi sandals and an Ortega watch. Compared to the runway, the Schiaparelli skirt was brought a bit higher on the hips, and the belt was removed.
On glam: longtime hairstylist Adir Abergel crafted a sculptural bun with her longer lengths cascading down her back and feathery bangs. Makeup artist Mary Wiles created a glowing base and brown-gold smoky eyes.
It was something of a “fresh-off-the-runway-off” with fellow star Elle Fanning, who opted for a full Givenchy fall 2026 look. Fanning, who posed beside Kidman on the carpet, wore a double-breasted navy pinstripe suit and floating red leather tie that matched her slash of lipstick.
Kidman, as mentioned, is no stranger to the naked dressing trend; but with both decades of red carpet experience and a fearlessness when it comes to embracing new frontiers of fashion, she’s always chosen looks that elevate or refine the look du jour. Take her 2024 appearance at the premiere of A Family Affair, where she wore a Gucci illusion gown that perfectly matched her peachy skintone, or her elegant Dolce & Gabbana gown with white floral appliqués over its sheer base for the Spellbound premiere. However much fabric or skin on (or not on) show, you can always trust Nicole Kidman to captivate on the carpet.
