She’s a star, baby! As a main 2026 Coachella headliner, all eyes were on Sabrina Carpenter last night—and the pop star’s theatrical performance certainly did not disappoint. The pop star kicked off weekend one in Indio, California by turning the main stage into a glitzy, Hollywood-inspired set—complete with a Hollywood Hills backdrop, a long “Walk of Fame” runway, and of course, plenty of glamorous and retro-minded fashions that all nodded back to Old Hollywood. (A signature style of Carpenter’s, after all.)
To make all of her A-list-worthy looks come to life, Carpenter, stylist Jared Ellner, and creative director Brett Alan Nelson all looked to Christian Dior to make her custom ensembles. The star pulled off four different costume changes, designed by Jonathan Anderson, throughout the show.
Carpenter started things off with some of her biggest hits: she performed “Manchild” while wearing a red peacoat, removed to reveal a sequin-covered red mini dress with capped sleeves underneath. There was no shortage of glimmer and shimmer that followed: Carpenter then changed into a gold sequined mini dress, complete with billowy champagne-colored chiffon sleeves. (Very Cher, very Studio 54.)
To perform “Bed Chem,” Carpenter then changed into more of a lingerie and boudoir-inspired look look—wearing a white beaded fringed bra top and swishy skirt, while she performed some seriously sexy chair choreography. Ending the show with more hits like “Espresso” saw her don what was the most dramatic ensemble of all: a corseted black lace bodysuit, complete with a sculptural avant-garde lace cape. Because at Coachella, more is always more.
Did you miss all of these Hollywood showgirl looks in-person? (Including a fabulous and unexpected Will Ferrell cameo?). Fret not: Vogue has an exclusive closer look at all of Carpenter’s custom looks below. You may not have been in the VIP section at Coachella, but you can still witness all of the glorious fashions nonetheless.
