Alan Cumming, Tavi Gevinson, Dylan Sprouse, and More at the New York Premiere of Patti Cake$

Even before its sale at Sundance, Patti Cake$ captured audiences and defied expectations thanks to its jubilant authenticity. The titular character, who is also known as Killa P, or Patricia Dombrowski, makes for an uncommon heroine (she’s a New Jersey–bred white female rapper), and the film colorfully charts her unique trajectory. And last night, cast and crew descended upon the Lower East Side’s Metrograph theater to celebrate the film’s New York City premiere.
