A Stylish Slam: The 2017 USTA Foundation Opening Night Gala

Last night at Arthur Ashe Stadium, stars from the worlds of fashion, music, theater, and philanthropy converged to toast the latest talents in tennis and to give back. The USTA Foundation hosted its opening night gala, a glittering soiree at the President’s Suite, which brought out Megyn Kelly and Douglas Brunt (who recently authored a book, Trophy Son, on a tennis prodigy), Katie Couric and John Molner, and Cheryl and David Scharf. The evening’s honorary chair, Alec Baldwin—who was joined by his wife, Hilaria—took to the stage to auction off practice rounds with tennis great Martina Navratilova, the results of which saw three separate $21,000 winning bids come in for a last-minute boost to the evening’s proceeds.
