A Beach Wedding in the Rain: Celia Rowlson-Hall and Mia Lidofsky’s Magical North Fork Ceremony
/40Our wedding invite beautifully designed by the artist Katy Smail.
/40A gorgeous wildflower farm right down the road, where our bridesmaids handpicked the flowers for our rehearsal dinner.
/40“I loved the color and feel of my Loeffler Randall sandals,” Celia says.

/40“Here I am getting ready with my bridesmaid Mona Fastvold and her daughter, Ada, one of our flower girls,” Celia says.
/40“Hugging my best friend, Mona. I had no idea how emotional I would be getting ready,” Celia says.
/40“Here I am putting on my ‘something borrowed’: Mona’s antique earrings,” Celia says.

/40“I’m dressed and ready to see Celia for the first time!” Mia says.
/40“Here I am sharing a moment with my best friend and bridesmaid, Zoë Chao, before the ceremony,” Mia says.

/40After spending a few hours apart getting ready, we were relieved and elated to be together again.
/40As the rain came down, our inimitable photographer, Sasithon Pooviriyakul, got us outside in the backyard, and the rain made the incredibly lush landscape even more magical in the moment.
/40We wanted our mothers to be our witnesses in signing our marriage license with us. It was a beautiful and meaningful moment for us all.
/40Our incredible florist, Kim Jackson Reeves, designed this stunning circular flower arch for us in a sunset palette.
/40Walking down the aisle together was the best last-minute decision we ever made! We were overcome with joy seeing all of our friends and family gathered there together, cheering in the rain.

/40“Writing my vows was surprisingly one of the easier things I’ve ever done. They poured out of me. It was a joy to think about and share my love for Mia,” Celia says.
/40“As I read my vows to Celia, the rain came down and the waves were crashing, Celia was holding me tight, and I felt like the luckiest person on the planet,” Mia says.
/40“A victorious moment when Mia recovered our rings from the pebbly beach,” Celia says with a laugh.

/40As the string trio played “Here Comes the Sun,” our guests threw rainbow confetti at us. We did it!
/40We called our bridesmaids our “best women,” as they truly are. From left to right: Mona, Jen [Dunlap], Hannah [Pitt], and Zoë went above and beyond to make sure this day was so special for us. We couldn’t love them more!
/40A quiet moment on the beach together before heading up to the reception.
/40“I wanted my bouquet to feel wild and natural and full of rich color. Kim once again did a perfect job,” Celia says.
/40“Mia and I picked out each of the colorful lanterns and hung them up with the help of a very generous neighbor, Steve!” Celia explains.
/40“We really loved how our mismatched place settings turned out, featuring my grandmother’s napkins from her former company, China Seas,” Mia says.
/40“Mia wouldn’t get married without a raw bar. Just kidding, she would have, but this was especially for her,” Celia jokes.
/40Guests gathering under the tent before the ceremony.
/40The rain stopped just in time for a beautiful sunset and gorgeous evening.

/40Our friends Zoë Kravitz and Karl Glusman listening to the toasts.
/40Our friends Jesse Peretz and Sarah Sophie Flicker (also the owners of this exquisite home) were the first on the dance floor.
/40“One of the best pieces of advice our married friends gave us was to spend as much of the night together as possible. We took it to heart and danced the night away together,” Mia says.
/40The kids taking advantage of the leftover confetti.
/40Our friends Mona and Jemima Kirke dancing with their daughters.
/40Our impromptu sparkler dance . . . a highlight of the night!
/40We wanted to subtly incorporate rainbows wherever possible, so picking our favorite cake from Milk Bar was a no-brainer.
/40Adding our sparklers to the cake and cutting it—a perfect finale to the dance!
