Photos: Ciara and Jennifer Fisher Getting Ready for the 2013 CFDA/Replica Handbag Store Fashion Fund Awards
Photographed by Taylor Jewell1/15For jewelry designer Jennifer Fisher, getting ready for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund awards dinner this year is much more relaxed than when she was a finalist nominee in 2012. “Win or lose, everyone looks out for each other,” Fisher says of the experience. “I didn’t know that yet last year.”
Photographed by Taylor Jewell2/15“But—what a difference a year makes!” says Fisher of her barely there nerves as final touches are applied to her eyes in the cozy Greenwich Hotel. “I’m just feeling excited for everyone going through it!”

Moments later, Ciara arrives wearing an all-white Calvin Klein Collection look complete with a pair of hybrid tuxedo-carpenter pants. “You look hot!” Ciara tells her host, playfully emphasizing the w in hawt.
Photographed by Taylor Jewell5/15Despite getting ready in a hotel room, Fisher makes everyone feel right at home by pouring rosé and champagne for her guests, and serving a ricotta spread from Locanda Verde for a little pregame nourishment.
Photographed by Taylor Jewell6/15Fisher takes a last look in the mirror and puts on a wide, flat, gold choker and places a matching bangle at the crook of her elbow—it just peeks out from under her sleeve.
Photographed by Taylor Jewell7/15Fisher slips on a pair of towering platform booties that zip up the ankle like suede socks. “What are those shoes?” Ciara asks. “Guess,” Fisher replies. “Louboutin?” Someone in the room chimes in. Ciara smiles, “No, Alaïa!” The two seem to share a mysterious shoe sixth sense: Ciara spots Fisher’s black-and-white checked Givenchy sneakers and—as it turns out—she has them too. “I have a street pair and a rehearsal pair!” she says.
Photographed by Taylor Jewell8/15With Fisher set, the duo happily gets down to the task at hand: choosing accessories for Ciara. “Are you left- or right-handed?” Fisher asks, layering a set of slim, curved, gold bangles on the artist’s left wrist. On the right side, the two opt to place a wider cuff just above Ciara’s elbow. Jason Rembert, Ciara’s stylist, then had to step in to squeeze the gold band around her arm. “We needed some man hands for that!” she laughs.

Photographed by Taylor Jewell12/15One last look: Though Fisher’s pieces are designed for piling, Ciara keeps it minimal, letting her pretty choker complement her long bob. “I think clean is cool,” she says.

They make plans to head to Mr Chow after the ceremony and pause as they walk to the car to look at the gold jewelry glimmering in the light on the sidewalk. “I love gold,” Ciara says as the pair jump in the car. “Gold is just everything!”
