At NYFW, the Love Affair Between Frame and The Ritz Paris Continued

They say there’s nothing more beautiful than Paris in the rain, and on this past Sunday night, a light, poetic drizzle swept across Manhattan just in time for the start of Frame’s celebration at The Nines. The reason for the fete? To usher in the second drop of the brand’s collaboration with the one-and-only Ritz Paris. Direct from the hotel were the gilded luggage trolleys, teddybear key rings, matchbooks, and bellhops, as well as Colin Field, the renowned and beloved head bartender of the Ritz Paris, who had made the trip to New York for the occasion to serve up a seemingly endless supply of his expertly crafted martinis to the likes of Imaan Hammam, Justin Theroux,   Nicole Richie, and Karlie Kloss.  

“I always love The Ritz because you really step into a piece of history, but it still feels very now,” Frame's Erik Torstensson told Vogue as he stood alongside co-founder Jens Grede, greeting their legions of loyalists. “I love spending a day there, table hopping and seeing friends. It feels like a little club within the busy streets of Paris.”

The scene inside The Nines’s dining room felt very much the same, as guests seemed to play an ongoing game of musical chairs, swapping their place settings as caviar-topped baked potatoes and cheeseburgers avec frites arrived, making for a convivial bread breaking between new friends of the brand and day one supporters, like Derek Blasberg, who in this case also served as a matchmaker. “Derek told me I should speak to Camilla Fayed whose family owns the beautiful Ritz Paris, about possibly doing something together,” Torstensson recalled. “And like all of our collaborations, this one also came out of friendship and the excitement around creating something really special together.” 

After a quick nosh on the petit-fours and plans for Frame’s next port of call—Ibiza, anyone?— it was straight to the basement dance floor, where Isabella Massenet’s rowdy disco playlist kept partygoers like Cindy Bruna, Charlotte McKinney, Duckie Thott, Sean O’Pry, James Charles, and even the DJs own mother, the always-chic Natalie Massenet, out on the dance floor until the wee hours.
