“Did you know that Mr. Dior started a gallery of his own early on in his career?” asked Sidney Toledano, Dior Couture’s beloved CEO of 20 years, last evening at the Guggenheim museum. In celebration of its 80th year, the New York institution hosted a two-night event in partnership with the French heritage house, which culminated yesterday with its annual international gala. Following a buzzy pre-party the day before, featuring electric performances by the Haim sisters, the gala itself welcomed an original cast of art world notables, philanthropists, and supporters of the fashion and dance worlds who have shaped New York’s cultural landscape into the fertile ground for talent and creativity that it is today.
