Photo: Sarah Jonathan1/36On the morning of our city hall service, my little sister, Salomé, is making me laugh while I am still in a robe not dressed yet at all! We are at my mum’s house, close to the city hall in the Sixth Arrondissement. This is where I got ready on both days, with my mother and my sisters.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan2/36My mother, Nathalie, is helping me zip up my bridal jumpsuit. I have a very, very funny family—everyone has their own sense of humor, but my mum is particularly funny, so she was probably making a joke—that’s why I’m laughing.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan3/36Salomé is at the window with me. I am about to smoke a cigarette. My mother usually won’t let me smoke at her home. But today, I can do whatever I want, apparently!
Photo: Sarah Jonathan4/36Mum is helping me put on my fabulous shoes that Julie de Libran, the creative director of Sonia Rykiel, made with a white mink pom-pom. I love a pom-pom.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan5/36Between my mum and my older sister, Tatiana, I’m completely ready. I’m wearing my grandmother Sonia Rykiel’s sapphire earrings and the crepe jacket with marabou and ostrich feathers Julie made for me.
Photo: Claire Warembourg6/36My grandmother Joan Burstein arriving at city hall and greeting my mother-in-law-to-be. Behind her is her friend Albert, and behind him, Geo and Katresha, who run the Pearl Laguna, a health retreat in Laguna Beach I go to twice a year. They are like family to me.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan7/36We are leaving my mum’s house, and she is holding my bouquet. It’s July 1, but it’s raining like crazy in Paris.
Photo: Claire Warembourg8/36Arriving at city hall. Thank god my mum checked the forecast. It’s usually sunny in Paris in July, not pouring rain. Luckily, she bought 250 umbrellas the day before.
Photo: Claire Warembourg9/36Jérémie was waiting for me to go upstairs and into the special room in city hall where people go to get married.

Photo: Claire Warembourg11/36Jérémie and I are sitting in front of the mayor of the Sixth Arrondissement. I’m holding my older sister’s hands. My two sisters, Salomé and Tatiana, are my witnesses. Jérémie has chosen Benjamin and Faustine, who went to school with us. They have been best friends since they were 5 years old.
Photo: Claire Warembourg12/36I think that we just said “yes” to each other.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan13/36We are now signing the document that says we are husband and wife. Our four witnesses are signing it, too.

Photo: Claire Warembourg16/36We invited a lot of people to city hall, so some guest are standing. They had to open another room behind the main one to give us more space. We didn’t want to invite some people to the party on Sunday and not to city hall on Saturday. Both events were important and meaningful to us.
Photo: Claire Warembourg17/36My mother looks quite happy.
Photo: Claire Warembourg18/36Leaving city hall. Our friends got crazy confetti. We’ve all known each other since we were kids at school, so they were extremely excited!

Photo: Sarah Jonathan20/36Here I am on Sunday getting ready for the religious ceremony. I’m much more stressed today, for some reason. Cristina Boatman is doing my hair. She is a very dear friend of mine and my hairstylist in New York City at the Takamsichi salon. She was going to come as my guest, anyway, but neither of us wanted someone else doing my hair. She is the best!
Photo: Sarah Jonathan21/36Fixing my veil in the mirror. My close friend Gigi Burris, who is a wonderful milliner, couldn’t make it to my wedding in Paris. She did this veil for me, though, so in a way she was with me. I could not have worn a veil or a hat of any kind if it was not from her!
Photo: Sarah Jonathan22/36Smoking (again) in my mum’s garden. I’m stressed. I’m wearing a Marie-Hélène de Taillac diamond chocker. Marie-Hélène let me borrow it for this special occasion. It is the coolest necklace on earth.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan23/36My mum has obviously been a very good supporter. She is super present and reassuring. She looks great, too.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan24/36My little sister, Salomé, had her outfit made by Julie as well. It’s very ’70s, a blue crushed velvet crop top and wide-leg trousers. She looks beautiful.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan25/36Leaving the house, my best friend, Sarah, is taking pictures and making me laugh. We are going to all go to the venue in the same car. My mom, my sisters, and Sarah, of course.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan26/36My mother walking me up to the venue, Le Pavillon Puebla, which is a huge restaurant/house in the middle of the Parc des Buttes-Chaumont. It is the most charming place I’ve ever seen. Jeremie took me there once for a drink, and I immediately knew this had to be the place where we would get married. Thank god, it didn’t rain—the entire ceremony was planned outdoors.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan27/36With Jérémie under the chuppah, my grandmother Sonia’s silk scarf is over our heads, attached to the flowers.
Photo: Sarah Jonathan28/36Julie de Libran, of course, was there. She made both of my outfits. I asked her if she could at my grandmother’s funeral. My grandmother and I spoke a lot about this day ever since I was a little girl. I love what Julie does and what she is bringing to the Sonia Rykiel brand—how she is keeping it relevant, alive, and cool. It couldn’t have been anybody else other than her. Sometimes I wonder if my grandmother and her knew each other in a different life. Julie is part of the family!
Photo: Claire Warembourg29/36Doing the traditional Jewish dance in a circle with my husband and then with all the members of our close family!
Photo: Claire Warembourg30/36Doing it now with Salomé!
Photo: Claire Warembourg31/36My friends Bee Shapiro and Batsheva Hay both came from New York to the wedding. They are very important to me.
Photo: Claire Warembourg32/36And my friend Mackenzie Wagoner came all the way from L.A.
Photo: Claire Warembourg33/36Some flowers at the end of the night . . . I wanted them to be pink and lush—that was my brief. I trusted the florist, Debeaulieu. I didn’t know what it was going to look like until the day of, but I knew I could trust him.
Photo: Claire Warembourg34/36I changed my dress so I could dance freely all night. This one is from Sonia Rykiel, too, and I love it.
Photo: Claire Warembourg35/36Jérémie’s friends having a boy talk at the end of the night. From left to right: Paul-Antoine, Alex, Hugo, and Antoine—all of them are childhood friends.
Photo: Claire Warembourg36/36We really had the craziest, most amazing, fun wedding party!
