Barneys Fetes Maria Cornejo's New Book and Her 20 Years in Business

A long line of friends and fans waited for a signature and a selfie from Maria Cornejo at Barneys last night. The store was celebrating her new book, Maria Cornejo: Zero, which was just published by Rizzoli, with a signing on the fourth floor and a dinner upstairs at Freds. Barneys was one of the earliest supporters of Cornejo’s label Zero in the late ’90s, a detail she reveals inside the new tome, which also features images and ephemera—many made by her husband, the photographer Mark Borthwick—from her 20 years in business. Yesterday was also Borthwick’s birthday, and the Libra got not one but two rounds of the “Happy Birthday” song.
