With a Chic Hamptons Dinner, Jack Brinkley-Cook and Gianpaolo de Felice Feted Their Expanding Ride Service
Friday night, you might have noticed a few more Teslas parked outside Sag Harbour hot spot Tutto Il Giorno. They were there dropping off a stylish group (Christie Brinkley, Candace Bushnell, Donna Karan, Nicole Miller, Alix Earle, Brooks Nader, Jayma Cardoso, etc.) for a celebratory meal in honor of Rove, the ride-share service co-founded by Jack Brinkley-Cook and Gianpaolo de Felice.
Rove has gone through several iterations since its founding in 2019, and its latest chapter marks a new milestone for founders. The duo reached a deal with Tesla to provide all the vehicles this summer for people with the Rove app to get around the Hamptons for free (within the towns of Montauk, East Hampton, and Sag Harbor).
Casa Del Sol also signed on as one of the advertisers this season and their logo is featured prominently on some of the cars. To celebrate their partnership, the luxury tequila brand co-hosted Friday night’s dinner. Naturally, guests sipped on Casa Del Sol cocktails before indulging in a family-style feast of calamari, spaghetti, branzino, steak, and tiramisu. (The restaurant is also one of Rove's advertisers.)
"We had wrapped the Jitney buses last year, and we got a lot of good exposure from that in the Hamptons, but this year we wanted to do something special," Casa Del Sol CEO Steph Sebbag told Vogue. "I love the message about giving free rides to people in the Hamptons, 'don't drink and drive' and it's also green. It's good for the environment, and it's good for the community."
Brinkley-Cook, who spent many years growing up in the Hamptons, expects to add a few more Teslas this summer and also plans to expand the service to Aspen and Palm Beach.
"We don't see ourselves as a competitor to Uber; that's not at all who we are," Brinkley-Cook says. "We're a transportation company that thrives in luxe markets because advertisers are there. In the next 12 months, we should have 45+ Teslas on the road in the three markets that I mentioned, with hopefully LA opening up just about a year from now."
