Tabitha Simmons Celebrated 10 Years of Pretty Shoes With Bubbly and Birthday Crowns at L’Avenue at Saks

Saks Fifth Avenue was the first store to stock Tabitha Simmons’s namesake shoe brand in its famous shoe parlor back in 2009, so it was only fitting for Simmons to host her label’s 10th-anniversary dinner party just a few floors up at fashion’s go-to spot L'Avenue at Saks

Longtime friends and die-hard supporters, Karen Elson and Tracy Margolies cohosted the special evening, sharing kind stories about Simmons’s extraordinary success and praising her selfless dedication as a business owner, designer, and loving mother.

“Ten years ago, I was at Tabitha’s first presentation in Paris and I was the lucky recipient of the ‘Karen’ shoe, which is the only shoe to date named after me,” Elson earnestly recounted in jest.

Filled with an elegant, pink-hued color story of florals ranging from peonies to pink roses, the tables were organized to gather Simmons’s community of close friends, both new and old. Guests including Wes Gordon, Grace Coddington, Arielle Charnas, Tory Burch, Helena Christensen, Carolyn Murphy, Aerin Lauder, Charlotte Groeneveld, Gucci Westman, Dustin Yellin, Selby Drummond, Renee Rockefeller, and Lili Buffett were eager to toast to Simmons’s decade-long success—and many donned sparkly birthday crowns for the occasion.

“I am so grateful and humbled by all of the support in this room,” Simmons smiled, “especially to Tracy and Saks who have supported me since the beginning and continue to support me through all of the highs and lows!”

Soon after Champagne flutes clinked in a toast, an autumnal-inspired meal was served: roasted eggplant paired with fresh burrata, decadent beef tenderloin, and a Thai-fusion sea bass curry finished with just the right amount of spice. And for dessert, rosé-infused macarons, almost too beautiful to eat, kept guests indulging in the evening’s heartwarming charm before they braved the below-freezing weather.

The night was as much a celebration of the past 10 years as it was for those ahead. “I think that Tabitha is more relevant than ever before,” said Margolies, “As we continue to see heel heights come down and people wearing everyday footwear, I think she does an incredible job of having a passionate point of view, not just for her brand but in everything she does.”
