We’re having friends over for dinner at our upstate barn for New Year’s Eve. My husband is the cook in the family and little does he know the menu will be inspired by The Mission Chinese Food Cookbook he got for Christmas! I will be appropriately dressed in this lavish Gucci chinoiserie-printed robe—perfect for decadent celebrating.

We will be upstate with our good friends drinking margaritas and eating giant bowls of my green pozole. Something cozy, stretchy, and just a little bit sexy is in order. In 2016, I resolve to read more books. At the top of my list is The Argonauts, by the excellent writer Maggie Nelson who I went to college with way back when.

I am spending New Year’s Eve at a three-story Victorian house in West Cornwall, Connecticut, that my friend Taylor McNeill told me about. I plan on spending the evening making new traditions: cooking an elaborate dinner in our pajamas, listening to music on my new Vifa Helsinki wireless speaker, and as the clock strikes midnight, we’ll go out the back door, run around the house, and enter through the front to signify a fresh start! Resolutions? To start saving more money for my 10-year plan, of course.

I’m going to Joshua Tree for New Year’s Eve and I’m thinking it would be quite nice to wear white lace out in the desert. I have a vintage Mexican wedding dress that is embroidered with brightly colored flowers that I've been wanting to pull out again. I’m a real foodie though, alas, I have no flair for cooking. In 2016 I would like to improve my skills in the kitchen: more meals at home and entertaining, and less eating out.

I usually spend Christmas and New Year’s in Los Angeles catching up with family and friends I grew up with, and I have spent the past few New Year’s Eves at my friend’s house in Laurel Canyon. He takes his New Year’s parties very seriously: Two years ago he hired someone on Task Rabbit to make pancakes at midnight. I’ll be wearing this Brock slip dress, which is festive but comfortable and low-key, like the gold Tabitha Simmons slides. My resolution for 2016 is to write all my Christmas thank-you notes by mid-January.

Japan or bust! I’m doing Tokyo karaoke-legit with some of my best friends, Raj Singh, Betina Ocampo, and Madison Shimoda. I’ll be wearing a custom satin navy blue Indian sari with gold embroidery that I had made in India, and velvet Manolo Blahnik bejeweled slides. The top is amazing because it’s backless with just ties (designing that portion was painfully long).
My resolutions include more yoga, more healthy eating (Elizabeth Taufield, it’s up to you to stop me from ordering chicken nuggets and macaroni every day for lunch!), and learning to cook.

The New Year’s Eve formula is the same: cool slip dress, old red fox fur, a little bling (actually, lots of rings), and some messed-up Chucks. The resolution? Short-term: Don’t sprain an ankle skiing in Aspen the first three days of 2016.

I plan on this New Year’s to be very relaxed with a bit of a down-home country feel: I am heading up to my aunt’s ranch in Cambria, California. It’s plush with avocado trees, a citrus orchard, and an organic garden with fresh herbs, root vegetables, and tomatoes. My family is going to celebrate by the campfire while roasting s’mores and drinking champagne. Comfort is key, and what better way to ring in the new year than in flats? Loving these Wallabee boots.
Jeans are also a must at the ranch, so to jazz up my look I am going to wear these 3x1 crop fringe pants, with a plaid shirt to keep it relaxed and casual from my favorite, Lou & Grey. To stay warm by the fire I am going to wear this Moncler jacket. In 2016 I am going to work on being a better person all around, work on meditating and reading more books!

For New Year’s Eve, I will be in Switzerland! As much as I love to ski, I really love an aprés moment, so I will be channeling Jackie Kennedy in her knits and furs. I will be bundled up for dinner on the mountain with family and friends, and I need warmth and a sturdy boot for the sleigh ride home after midnight! My resolution is to organize my closet and donate what is not needed!

I will be ringing in the new year in Aspen! I am planning to spend the evening dining and wining with family and friends at home, and then will head to Caribou Club to toast 2016. I am very much obsessed with Alessandro’s Gucci girl these days: What is more perfect than something that has a romantic feel, yet still some shine for the occasion? I thought these beautiful Doyle & Doyle Earrings tied the look together perfectly. For the year ahead I have decided I want to keep a journal to record my ideas, thoughts, and experiences. I love the idea of being able to look back on this and recognize how I have built on them. Also: weekly tennis lessons!

I will be in Paris, with a friend, which is just fab, enjoying the new La Reserve hotel and spa, and I’ll pack everything that feels classically Paris. I’ll be dining with friends at Frenchie in Paris after spending the whole day unapologetically in the spa. I am sure there will be some dancing involved later on if we aren’t rolling ourselves home after the meal. My resolutions for 2016 will be all about not letting perfect be the enemy of good. For one, last year I committed to meditating for 10 minutes every day. It didn’t quite happen so this year I’m being a little more realistic and going for one minute a day.
