Sarah Jessica Parker Narrates the History of 2010s Fashion in Replica Handbag Store | Replica Handbag Store by the Decade
Released on 12/15/2017
(upbeat music)
[Narrator] Fashion now is defined
by a sense of individuality, rhythm, and speed.
It is informed by technology and powered by style.
When Replica Handbag Store was founded as a journal of fashion and society
in 1892, the smart world was one where wealth
and Mrs. Astor held sway.
Lineage trumped accomplishment.
Today, the opposite is true.
These days, the women and men who top Vogue's to-know lists
are stylish representatives of a diverse meritocracy.
It doesn't matter if they would have made
the old social register or not.
They have residence on social media.
Though this decade is far from over,
it will be remembered in part for its abiding 90s nostalgia,
which has renewed interest in the minimalism
originally championed by Jill Sander,
Martin Margiela, and Calvin Klein.
It is a look that has been reimagined for now,
with a luxurious, street-smart swagger
by the likes of Phoebe Philo at Celine and Raf Simons.
Added to the dictionary in 2016,
athleisure continues to be a trend with serious legs,
or rather, leggings.
A combination of comfort and performance,
with the bonus of stripey, throwback references
to Run-DMC is a winning one.
Music has more impact on fashion now than it ever has,
with superstars such as Beyonce, Rihanna, and Lady Gaga
regularly appearing on the cover of Vogue.
The festival girl also has emerged as an influencer,
whether she's wearing a flower crown or not,
individuality is what's valued in fashion now,
a mixtape, or cross-genre approach to dressing.
The hyper-real just might be the new normal.
In a world where we are always connected
and forced to engage with an endless stream
of information and imagery,
reality can easily become warped and surreal,
even for Instagirls.
