If I get bullied hard enough out of something,

then I'll just try the next thing.

[group laughing]

And that's how you started showering.

And that's how I started.

And that's when I took my first shower.

This is The Run-Through.

I'm Margaux Anbouba,

Vogue's senior Beauty and Wellness editor,

and vintage aficionado, I suppose.

And I am Christian Allaire,

Vogue's senior fashion writer.

We are so excited

to be in the Replica Handbag Store Studio today with Emma Chamberlain.

Hello.

I'm so excited to be here.

You look amazing.

[Emma] Thank you.

You mentioned when you were walking in,

you just are fresh off of a red eye,

but will you tell us what you're wearing,

how you're feeling?

Yes. I am wearing a full vintage outfit.

Oh, me too.

Which is so fun.

Wait, are you?

[Margaux] Yes.

Love.

Tell us everything first.

Okay, so I actually don't even

know the brands of everything.

Like I-

[Christian] That's just vintage.

[Margaux] Makes it better.

Like I think this top is why I sell, by the way,

it's such a like, so cringe maybe.

I didn't even know.

I think it's why I sell.

Bottoms, I'm wearing like some cute, like boxy Capris.

[Margaux] Yes. Gray.

A little ate coolatte.

And then I'm wearing a gorgeous boot.

Okay, wait, let's put the boot up.

[Christian] Oh, flex. Oh.

[overlapping chatter]

Wow.

But these are great boots.

Great.

Are they comfortable? No.

Well, that's why they're great.

[Margaux] They look amazing.

Boots are also not comfortable and they're vintage,

so I feel you.

Do you remember where you got it,

like all the pieces are from all over.

Okay. So to be honest, it it's, no.

It's actually, well, all of it's from eBay.

Oh, we love eBay in this house.

We love eBay in this house.

Yeah. And I'm a very much like, I love shopping in person.

I really do.

But there's something about, end of a long day,

I'm in bed, what am I gonna do

It feels productive to like online thrift.

Does that make sense? It's not just like online shopping.

It feels like more, it's more responsible.

[Margaux] Yeah.

And so it is indulgent,

but it's like, I can't even remember half the time,

like when things got added to cart.

I love a surprise mail arrival.

I mean, see, but I'm trying to be good about like,

not purchasing unless I really think first.

Like I wanna have something saved

for a bit and I wanna think about it.

Okay. So your eBay technique is what exactly?

Okay. Mine...

I mean, I think on eBay specifically, I really like

to be specific.

Like, I like to think about something in my wardrobe

that perhaps I'm missing,

and then I like to look up keywords and see what comes up.

[Margaux] Okay.

And then I kinda let the algorithm

take me on a journey from there.

I like utilizing algorithms for my journeys.

Like even on like when I'm watching YouTube,

you know what I mean?

What's on that homepage?

[Margaux] Yeah.

Let's see what I'm being fed.

Or like the thing, the video next is always like

sort of related, but sort of not,

but you are interested in it somehow.

Video next for me on YouTube, I'm clicking.

[Christian] That rabbit hole you can go on, it's crazy.

It's like, you know what the internet,

it is a mess, it is toxic.

But I'm gonna use the algorithm to my benefit if I can.

Yeah, I mean, I know all of my weird facts that I know

because of the internet.

[Emma] Yeah.

So, that's why I'm so good at trivia.

Whoa. That's a great skill to have, by the way.

[Margaux] Yeah.

Do you do like any weekly trivia?

I don't do weekly.

I ask a question of the day at the office

that I make everyone answer.

Can confirm.

Yes.

[Emma] Wait, what was today's today?

No one's really here 'cause on Fridays, less people.

Wait. I can think of something though.

I mean, a question I asked recently

is what type of cheese are you?

And this is not what type of cheese you like,

because the cheeses I like and the cheeses I am

are two totally different things.

See I think the one I, my favorite cheese

is also the cheese that's me.

[Christian] What is it?

Which is white cheddar.

[Margaux] Oh wow.

[Christian] Oh.

A little sharp white cheddar.

Sharp white cheddar.

[Emma] With this hair color.

You are white cheddar.

[Emma] But you know what else?

She laughed at my joke.

I might also be feta cheese. No, wait.

Cut everything. Cut everything.

I'm torn between three.

[Margaux] Okay. Okay. And I like all three.

But I also feel like I am all three:

Parmesan cheese. Feta cheese.

Sharp cheddar.

You're a unique new hybrid child.

All three.

Fetasan. Wait, how am I gonna get cheddar in there?

Cheddarfetasan.

Okay. Sounds chic.

And can I be honest?

How can we get this to market?

I know, I'm interested. Okay.

So the next, I am a huge fan of Chamberlain Coffee.

I went to the Century City Mall every single day

we were in LA for Replica Handbag Store World.

Like I would have people meet me there.

I'd be like, I'm on my way. Whatever.

I loved all the pastries.

There was like a, I'm gluten-free,

but there was like a gluten-free carrot bread or something.

So Nice. I love it.

Thank you.

Your next venture will be obviously this cheese

that we all three TM'd together easily.

But will you tell me a little bit about that business

and what you've like learned

as a businessperson, as a businesswoman?

I will say it has been

an incredible learning experience.

I'll tell you, every single day is filled

with new learnings.

That is for sure, I think,

because you really, listen, I went into it

without a business degree.

Like I more had to create a vision

and that was sort of what I was bringing to the table.

I've learned so much about business, it's insane.

But most of it is boring.

Like, it's like the boring stuff.

But the real stuff, right, the not-sexy stuff.

Which I've actually grown,

even though going into building this business,

like it was not, that was not necessarily my role, right,

it has become something that I've actually

become interested in more so

even though I do think ultimately my brain is more

creative than say business-minded,

and I think I thrive more in creative work environments,

but I have developed a sense in that area,

which has been really interesting.

But it's like, almost like small little paper cuts,

like making up a big cut,

which is like a bad, that's like a negative metaphor.

[Christian] I see what you're saying.

But like, you're slowly, it's like slowly chipping away

at a sculpture, which is like my business side of my mind.

It's likes it every single day, there's a little learning,

a little learning, a little learning,

and it just compounds and compounds.

But I will say, you know,

we're evolving the business into more

of a cafe forward business.

[Margaux] Okay.

I love that. Which has sort of been

my dream since day one.

But we started the business at a unusual time, world wise,

where opening a a brick and mortar sort spot-

Oh, fun.

Was a bit trickier.

And so now that opportunity

is presenting itself again in a real way,

and it's been really exciting for me

because I think I just really enjoy creating an experience.

And I think in the coffee space,

what better way to do that than a coffee shop?

Hello?

Yeah. So, yeah.

One of the things I love about like,

the videos you do is you're always like seeking out

a cute coffee shop no matter where you are.

[Emma] Totally. It's so true.

So what's important for you to have

in like your own coffee shop?

I mean, I think for me, what was the most exciting

to me was making an extension of my home.

Because I shared my home in a house tour a few years ago

when I first finished it.

And, you know, people really enjoyed it.

And it became something that people brought up

to me on the street, for example, in a way

that I did not anticipate at all.

I thought I would like do that,

and it would be fun to watch for a few people,

and then it'd be like, okay, that's it.

But it ended up becoming a thing where people were like,

whoa, I like am a fan of your house.

Like, I don't even know who you are. But I love your house.

Which was really interesting.

And so I think already, you know,

intuitively I would have wanted to create a space

that felt reminiscent of my home.

However, I almost look at that as sort of like

a proof of concept in a way.

People really love the energy that I created in my home.

Let me just like, that just answered the question.

Yeah.

It was like, maybe if I was 80% sure I wanted it

to be the same vibe, it became a hundred.

And so it's very much making these spaces

an extension of my home.

The coziness, but also like a bit of fantasy too.

Like I think my home is, you know,

like I have a bright green kitchen, you know?

Gorgeous home.

That's a bit more whimsical. Thank you.

But it's like, that's not necessarily super conventional,

super expected.

[Christian] Right.

It's not also necessarily like,

it's a little, it's odd.

It's maybe a bit more odd.

And I kind of like that balance of cozy

and sort of whimsical.

And I think a good experience in all other ways,

but that kind of goes without saying.

Like, you want it to taste good.

You want the baristas to be like fun.

[group laughing]

Yeah. Hot.

I mean, you want to be like Trader Joe's

where you walk in and you're getting flirted with.

No, but it's like, it's honestly though,

why does no one ever flirt with me at Trader Joe's?

Sorry, sidebar.

But like, I never get flirted with a Trader Joe's.

Me neither. Do you?

I don't get flirted with at Trader Joe's,

but I have dated a lot of baristas.

[Christian] Oh.

Is that your type?

It's not anymore, but an Australian barista-

I'm in trouble.

They were all dating me in 2019.

Oh wow. That's a great type.

Yeah. I lived above an Australian coffee shop

and they would, my doorman knew

that they could come up and bring me coffee.

So that every morning I had like,

whoever was on shift bringing me coffee.

Wow. You have them wrapped around your-

Actually couldn't go in because-

You were living my dream.

Yeah. I couldn't go into the coffee shop.

'Cause I would be like, how do I talk

to these two men I'm dating that don't know

I'm dating both of 'em in the coffee shop, but-

Wow. My dream also.

Wait, this is literally-

[Margaux] [indistinct] to everyone.

No. This is a TV show by the way.

Like, let's, oh-

We have a lot of ideas that we're working on here.

We're really workshopping.

We're a business. This is business.

Yeah. When it comes to your home,

I'm curious what your closet looks like,

because you obviously we said are a vintage girl,

but you're a fashion girl in general.

Well, I'm in such a unique position where like

my closet at this very point in time is actually

very bare bones.

I don't have a lot of pieces, to be honest.

I did, I think it was a little over a year ago now,

I did sort of a major purge, yeah, major closet clean out.

And I did that because I just ultimately had accumulated so,

I had collectsed, especially, you know,

going to thrift stores, it's easy to sort of overdo it

because I think you can,

because you get a good deal a lot of times.

Right?

It's like you go into a vintage shop

and it's like, there's so many, you know, things that,

especially for me who likes to kind of experiment,

it was like, I'd go into a vintage store or a thrift store

or whatever and I'd see a bunch

of different things and there was so much potential,

that I would just kind of, eyes bigger than my stomach,

if you will, and I would just get way too much.

And then I got to this point where I had

an overwhelming collectsion of clothing that,

where I couldn't utilize everything.

And it was like, okay, someone else can

utilize this better than me,

but I also cannot deal with this clutter.

I need to sort of own the mistake I've made

as a consumer ultimately

and sort of start over in a way,

and with a different mindset.

And so I've done many different things in order to sort

of get those clothes in the possession of other people.

It's been a process and a journey.

Oh yeah.

'Cause I wanted to do it in the best way possible.

It has been a journey.

Did you have like, special pieces that your friends wanted

and stuff?

Like, in my will it says like, so and so gets this,

so and so gets that.

Like Hannah Jackson, our coworker.

[Emma] Yeah. Yeah.

Well, anything that special I'm keeping.

[Margaux] Yes. Okay.

[Christian] That's right. True.

You're keeping the good stuff.

It was the stuff that I think I, that maybe like,

was more of an experiment.

I did a lot of experimenting

and I'd like to use the excuse of like,

I work in the fashion space, like I'm,

but I actually didn't need to, like, it was fully, like-

It's fun to experiment though. I see it.

Yes. And it was like I had to learn, and I,

but I fully am aware now of not even in a way of like,

on a fully personal level, I'm like, that was,

that lifestyle, that way of consuming for my own wellbeing,

take every other variable outta the picture,

it was not good for me.

Like, it was like, it made fashion not fun for me

because I was just overwhelmed by what I had.

Too many choices.

And so I changed my mindset. It's pretty simple.

Quality over quantity and also making timeless choices

where it's like, okay, I'm gonna be able to wear this

for years to come.

And I think what's also really cool is that, you know,

working in this industry, I get to borrow clothing.

You know, I don't have to necessarily-

Which is sustainable.

Which is wonderful.

And so, I also work with my wonderful stylist, Jared Elner,

and together we're like fashion soulmates

and we have so much fun, you know, pulling from brands

and ultimately we're turning the clothing.

And so it's like everything I wear

to an event, that's not mine.

You don't need to own much.

Yeah. And you know, people are,

I see sometimes comments about say like an outfit

and they're like, this outfit costs this much money.

And I'm like, well, I did not buy that.

[overlapping chatter]

I rented that, and that has been given back.

So for me, I think it's weird,

like my personal style versus like my style with Jared

and what we wear for more editorial moments or events.

It's like, there is kind of a different thing going.

And I think my personal style is much more simple,

I would say.

Well, I was gonna ask you about that,

'cause what I love is when you go to a show,

like you fully lean into the vibe of the show.

[Emma] Totally. Yes.

Like if you go to McQueen, you're gonna look drastically

different than if you're going to [indistinct].

And I feel like you and Jared have a lot of fun with that.

[Emma] Yes.

So when did you start like, fully just like,

succumbings yourself to the vibe?

I would say, you know,

I originally started attending Fashion Week

and I would go to one show, you know,

and it was sort of like, that was the,

that was sort of the agenda.

That was the itinerary.

And it was cool because I could really focus

on one look, really nailing it,

whatever in my eyes, whatever nailing was at that time.

I look back at what, I don't know,

I think I've grown a lot.

It must be great to have that all

on the internet when you're like-

It's wonderful. It's great.

But, you know, it's humbling.

Keeps me humble.

Yeah. Every day I wake up and it's,

then there's my Streamy speech and it's like, okay.

But I will say like, so I got to this point

where I was like, you know, I really wanna experiment

and start going to more shows.

And that's maybe a less conventional way

to attend shows in a way.

I think especially going into it,

a lot of times there's like, you know,

but I fought, I was like, I really want to,

or not even fought, but like, I really wanted to try

to do Fashion Week in a more experiential way.

Like I wanted to do the whole thing.

I love that.

And that's not the traditional way,

you know, you both know what I mean.

[Margaux] Yeah.

It's like, that's not really

how Fashion Week usually works.

Unless you're working-

[Emma] You go and you're exclusive to one brand-

One show, maybe sometimes.

[Emma] Totally. Yeah.

And so I really wanted to, I love fashion

for me is such a hobby and such like something

that I genuinely just on a personal level

am looking at on my phone when I'm not at Fashion Week.

So for me it's like, I want to be there.

I wanna be at multiple shows.

And very quickly, once that sort of ball started rolling,

Jared and I just like, we had the best time turning me into,

you know, a different character for every show.

It just, it's so inspiring and it's so much fun

because ultimately it is fun.

Yeah, dress up. It's to be fun.

It's dress up and it's like, it really, I look at it,

I still look at fashion in a big way as more

of a hobby almost than a job in a way.

I think it's like still very much a hobby

and like a love and getting to participate in it

is so special.

And take little risks.

Hey, why not.

We love a risk.

We love a risk and-

Fashion Week is the place to do it.

[Emma] Yeah.

But I have to say, we just did a lot

of talking about Fashion Week,

and you did share something on your YouTube,

a video about, I wanted to make sure I get the name right,

Nobody cares that you went to Fashion Week.

[Emma] Correct.

[Christian] Great title.

[overlapping chatter]

Will you explain this to me a little bit though, after,

we cared that you went to Fashion Week

and we're interested and we just talked about it.

Thank you. I think that it's tricky because like,

for me, like the way that I look at Fashion Week is,

you know, it's such a novelty experience

for me every single time,

and it's something that I'm so grateful I get to do

because it isn't, how do I put this?

It isn't necessarily necessary for me to attend.

Okay. Yeah.

Like, I don't need to, like, I don't need to go.

I make a choice where it's like, I want go because I want

to be there and I wanna see, you know,

collectsions as they come out.

I wanna be there with Jared.

I want to, you know, a big part of going is, you know,

trying to figure out, okay, what are we gonna wear for, say,

events or red carpets or editorial shoots or whatever.

You know, so there is sort of a function to it,

but also like, technically we could do that

from the comfort of home.

I think really the root of me wanting to be there

is because I just am so excited about it.

And it's like, it is a hobby for me.

But I do think that it is, there is sort of a, perhaps,

a stigma around Fashion Week where it is very glam.

It's very glam. Yeah.

And I kind of also understand from an outside perspective

that it's like, okay, like enough with your,

enough with the fashion stuff.

So like, and I think that's where that title

came from for me, was sort of understanding like,

this is completely ridiculous, in some ways.

It's not, because it also is-

[overlapping chatter]

If you look at it as art, and you look at it

as all these things, which is also,

by the way up for debate is fashion art, people debate.

[Christian] Absolutely. It is.

I think it is. But it's depends on who you are.

I mean, a big debate for sure.

We might be having a big celebration sort of timed

around that in May.

Literally, literally, which I mean, so I guess my,

our opinions are on theme.

[Margaux] Yeah, exactly.

But like, there's even at times it can be even dystopian

to perceive this sort of like, situation of all these,

you know, internet personalities if you will,

at Fashion Week and actors and people who make music,

whatever, everybody there.

And it's just, it's a bit dystopian.

It's a bit weird, and I think I understand

the complexity of it.

[Margaux] Yeah.

But I also just love it so much

'cause it's so, I just get so excited about it

that I wanna share it.

So I think it was about sharing it with, you know,

ideally as much as I could in a real level

of self-awareness.

Yeah. But you're always so real.

[Margaux] Yeah. Ideally you have a very good like,

sense of humor, self-awareness that is so nice.

Like, I've missed-

[Emma] Thank you.

So many baby showers,

so many like weddings and stuff because of Fashion Week

or Couture or the Met.

So I think that that like sums it up.

Something that we like to ask everyone.

Do you have a first fashion memory?

Yes, I do. Yes I do, which is shocking.

Yeah.

You had it ready.

I know. Which actually is like so bizarre,

'cause I don't know why I have this.

It was like really at the forefront.

When I was younger, I loved dressing up in costumes,

and I had various different costumes.

I had a dolphin costume.

It was like, almost like a furry situation,

like full body suit?

Oh yes. The famous furry dolphin.

Of course.

And then I also had a cat one as well.

Purple Cat. It was a purple cat.

Big cat lady over here.

Yeah. Huge cat.

I have two cats. I totally get it.

Tell us their names.

Declan and Frankie.

Declan and Frankie, your mom loves you.

I mean, love, I don't miss you guys right now though,

because it's kind of nice to have a break,

'cause I'm super allergic to cats, actually.

What?

Yeah. I am.

And I also just did an allergy test too

and it came back like highest for cats out of like my whole-

Are you going to do shots?

I don't care. I take Allegra and I go like this.

And I get allergy attacks daily and it's totally fine.

I love them so much. But it is nice to have a break.

[Christian] Yeah.

I cannot wait to breathe out of my nose.

My eyes are not itchy today, and that is a treat for me.

But anyway, what was I even saying?

A first fashion memory, you're dressing up-

[overlapping chatter]

So I like, I loved campy stuff like that.

But I think my favorite piece of clothing

that I owned was this sparkly pair of Mary Janes

that I'd wear with a pink tutu usually.

And I wore those until my foot was bursting out of them.

Like, my mom was like,

you can't wear these anymore, honey.

They're like, your foot-

Too small.

And I was like, no, no.

Anyway, so then I just had to like deal with,

I mean, then I just put the dolphin costume back on

and got over it.

But yeah.

But it was like, I really loved,

I had very specific things that I was really into

that were like really extreme.

And I made sure to wear them as much as possible,

even when it was sort of inappropriate

for the setting that I was in.

I mean, dolphins should be allowed in all spaces.

[Emma] All spaces.

[Christian] Yeah. Agreed.

And cats, honestly, I get so annoyed

that the dogs can go everywhere.

Like once a year I make us go on vacation

with my cat, with our cat, Fondue.

'Cause I'm like, the dog gets to go everywhere.

The cat always gets left at home, justice for cats.

And then I immediately regret it when I'm at, like,

I'm gonna say the name of the hotel, I'm sorry,

we snuck a cat in, the Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay.

And the cat is like scratching the furniture.

Oh. I'm stressed.

I've hidden the fact that there's a cat in the room.

We have like a noise playing so that like they

can't hear meowing.

No one cleans the room for the week.

And then I'm like, why did we do this?

But next year I'm gonna do the exact same thing.

I'm gonna take the cat on vacation again and regret it.

But also it was fun.

Wow.

It was Fondue's first time seeing the ocean

and he was very mesmerized by it.

Oh, that's so sweet though.

I cried so much about it.

Wait, that's, well Fondue had to see the ocean.

He needed to understand what's up.

I mean, I like, I think you was worth it.

But also, I'm from the Bay Area,

so you say Half Moon Bay and my heart twinkles.

Oh.

It's the most-

[Emma] Oh, it's wonderful.

[overlapping chatter]

It is so fab. The air smells incredible.

The tide pools are so cool

because there's like really stuff in them.

We were just sort of like walking on the beach all day

So much marine biology.

Dolphins. Yes.

I mean, you see everything. I saw an otter, I think.

Definitely.

Yeah. I was in heaven.

There's redwoods.

Okay. They have it all.

The fog is like romantic and sexy.

[Margaux] Yes.

The only time that fog, usually I'm like, dementors,

but this time I'm like, great.

Bay Area girl. Love the fog.

I have to love the fog.

[Christian] You're selling me, guys.

It's my favorite. No, you, and it's a little crispy.

Wear like a little sweater

and you wear like a little Levi that's like a little torn up

and you wear like a little [indistinct],

you wear like a little loafer and you walk around

and you drink your little coffee

and you have the best time.

You have to also rent a convertible.

Oh. Haven't done that.

We rented a convertible and went to the Muir Woods

and then like all of the parks

and we kept on seeing animals.

It was a mini-Cooper convertible, which was so fun.

[Emma] Dream.

And we would just get out on the side

of the road so I could like lay down on the concrete

and look at a shrew that was crossing the street.

I had the best time of my life.

We've done this like three times now.

This is my favorite thing to do.

[Margaux] Sounds amazing. Yes.

Okay. Now new bucket list item.

There you go.

Bay Area vintage shopping. Very good also.

Totally, totally. San Francisco.

Well, I did wanna ask you, but not to go back to vintage,

but since you brought it up,

gotta know where you're shopping.

[Emma] Yes. Okay, well, I mean-

Bay Area, New York, anywhere.

Ooh, I mean, okay, I'm very much the type of person

where I don't have like one fave vintage store.

[Christian] Okay. Like, I'm not like, oh,

I'm hitting this spot every single time

and this is like my go-to.

[Christian] Okay.

Like for me, when I'm in New York, we'll start there

'cause I'm here, Chinatown.

Okay.

I'm bopping around. You know what I mean?

[overlapping chatter]

But also all the little shops up

in that little shopping center.

[Margaux] Yes. So special.

It's really become an interesting,

like, mecca of vintage shopping hotspot.

But then right off of, you know, like Time Square

or whatever, there's so many little spots you can pop into.

So that's wonderful.

[Christian] Love.

I also like, but even too in, where is it?

It's like Near Orchard, on Orchard,

there's some like vintage stores.

I love those.

I've like really scored on those.

Okay.

Los Angeles, I would say, well, I love the Rose Bowl Flea.

Yes.

Oh, I haven't been in it yet and I'm dying to go.

It's so wonderful.

And it's, I mean, it's massive and it's so overwhelming.

But it's cool 'cause it's, it's very like, I don't know,

it feels very LA and it's all in one place.

Are you a negotiator?

No, no, no, no, I don't.

[Margaux] Christian and I both like to haggle.

[overlapping chatter]

I'm at a place in my life where I'm like,

if I love something, it's a special find for me,

I'm just so grateful I found it.

I'm like, take the full price.

Here's also an extra $10.

I can't, I'm just so lucky.

I don't wanna buy something

unless I'd pay more for it than it's worth, almost.

Okay.

Because it's so special, if that makes sense.

[Christian] It does.

I found this like amazing pair,

it's my favorite pair of pants right now.

It's this like vintage pair of cream work pants.

They're like the perfect fit.

And I found 'em at the Rose Bowl Flea.

And I like tried them on at the Flea, I think,

which was honestly like a little bit

of a wild experience, 'cause-

Out on the open.

Yeah, not fully.

I mean, I would, by the way.

[Margaux] Me too.

I wear granny panties.

It's like I'm at the beach.

Okay, let me just, whatever.

[Christian] Right.

But I think I got into one of those little tents

and I'm like, whatever.

[Margaux] They're so hot.

And then I'm trying to find a mirror and whatever,

and I look in the mirror and I was like,

whoa, those are good.

And I was so stoked.

I was like, I said to myself in my head, I was like,

I don't care how much these are.

I don't care if there's some sort of weird rare pant.

Like I will drop-

[overlapping chatter]

Twenties or something.

$200 for these even though they're like kind

of decrepit and they're like stained.

Let's do it.

I don't remember how much they were 'cause I didn't care.

I was like these are perfect to me.

I like, and that is my new shopping philosophy is like,

I want something to be so perfect, it's a no-brainer.

[Christian] Yeah. Yeah.

Unless it was like, we're getting into some,

you know, but like, but see, to me,

I like something special that's like,

I like a find, I like a diamond in the rough.

I have a hot take question with vintage

because I'm kind of disgusting

and I won't clean anything when I buy it.

[overlapping chatter]

What's our thoughts on this?

I'm dry cleaning. Sorry.

No, you go first. You go first.

I like, it's known around the office, which is weird.

Wear vintage underwear, vintage everything.

[Christian] Yeah, you do?

No problem with putting it on my body.

Right out of the, and I'm like a digger.

I will go stop to like anywhere-

Right off? Just right straight away.

I do not care, straight away.

I open it up, put it on.

I do not care.

Underwear is next level.

I know. I know.

And also, like, the places

that I go is I go to like warehouses where I'm wearing like,

full dishwasher gloves, pulling through,

try it all on as soon as I get home, I don't care.

[overlapping chatter]

I know.

This makes me feel particularly clean and-

Yeah, you're like, ew, girl, got away from me.

I'm a very clean person, normally.

I will like wash it, obviously eventually.

And I wash everything, like hand wash everything

in the bathtub.

So I'm doing laundry every night

because like, the cycle of doing it.

But yeah, I don't-

I'm not judging.

Yeah, I mean, I gotta try it on to make sure

it fits first and stuff.

[Emma] Here's the thing.

And then sometimes I get distracted and wear it around.

Totally.

[Margaux] Yeah.

The reason, I don't think you're grimy for that,

by the way.

I'm not judging you at all.

However, there was like a rumor for many,

for the first like five years of my career

that I was a grimy girl.

[Emma] Oh really? Yes.

I feel like I've never heard this before.

[overlapping chatter]

But everybody, I like made one joke once that I was like,

that I don't shower or something, and then it, like,

it lasted for like five years, whatever.

But I've gotten progressively more grossed out

as I've gotten older, like a bit more scared of like,

things like lice or like-

You are like aware.

Or like little mites or like, little, or like,

what if you put on a pair like a little,

like there's some things you get.

I know.

And I think I've become,

I think my health anxiety has gotten worse

since I've gotten older.

So it's not even that it's like gross to me.

It's more like, I literally am afraid,

like I have a health anxiety.

I'm like, I need, so I will get it dry cleaned.

I'll throw it straight in the wash.

I'm doing that.

But then again though, I'm at the Rose Bowl Flea

trying on my favorite pants, and like, but underwear,

I think that's where I draw the line.

I mean, I think I hit my limit,

but I love that you would do that

and you gotta see if it fits.

[Margaux] Yeah. True.

I'm like really hardcore about it,

and I'm just sort of like, whatever, it doesn't bother me.

Well, the body-

[overlapping chatter]

I can imagine the spirit of the woman

or the person that was wearing them when I put them,

when I put it on.

I like to be like, who wore this last?

Where did they wear it?

That's beautiful. What do you think is like-

[overlapping chatter]

I loved it. I loved it.

And I hope, and they will probably cut it,

but I hope we keep it in.

No, I love it.

I wanna know what the wildest thing you've ever found is,

like out of vintage store, market.

[Emma] Ooh. Yeah. Your holiest grail.

Like what is the craziest thing?

Okay. I will say I have this vintage

Jean Paul Gaultier top that is-

Already off to a good start.

Yeah. No, well listen, I also have like some random,

like, you know what I mean?

But this is the coolest piece I think I have.

And it's this top, it's maroon,

it's like sweatshirt material

and it's a whatever Is that three quarter layers?

[overlapping chatter]

But it's not even three quarter.

It's a little longer than three quarter, whatever.

And it has like a wide neck.

It's a maroon and it has two little pockets

on the tummy here.

And you put, you can put your hands in and it's gloves.

Chic.

No, it's the coolest thing I've ever found.

And it's like, so me in a top.

[Christian] Wow.

And that is my best vintage find.

[overlapping chatter]

And it also, I think I got a really good price on it.

When I buy vintage designer specifically, I am,

I'm getting a good price.

[Christian] Yeah.

Are you though coming into it being like,

I want this JPG top,

or did you find it and fall in love with it,

or is there two?

There's like a surprise thing I hope I find,

and then like I'm leaving it open to the vintage gods also.

I will sometimes, like, especially if I'm on, well,

if I'm in person, I'm just like letting it come to me.

Like, it's like full free for all.

And I am just letting the thrift gods, the vintage gods,

it's not even thrift gods,

the vintage designer gods, show me the light.

However, online I do have like certain brands

that I know I have-

[Christian] Looking for.

Like I love vintage CDG.

I love, you know, like I don't know.

Like I know Margiela, JPG, like there's certain brands

that I know just like have a plethora of vintage

that I love.

Yeah, totally.

That I think we all love by the way.

Like, hello.

There's competition out there.

[Emma] I know.

Are you a bidder? Do you bid?

That's a whole thing. No. To be honest.

I'm like, let me just buy now.

I have a different approach-

Because if I love it.

Because if I'm biding, if I'm gambling with it,

I don't love it enough.

[Margaux] Yeah.

True. That's true.

If I love it enough, I want like,

it's like dating.

It's like if you're kinda like, oh, I don't know,

maybe I'll date this person or whatever,

you need to wanna like lock it down.

Yeah. You're right.

Like, you know what I'm saying?

Or else you don't really like that person enough,

and like you're, it's probably not right.

[Christian] Right.

And not that this is a dating podcast now, but it-

That's probably why I'm single 'cause I'm always

like meh, meh, meh.

No, but see, I think sometimes it's like,

but the gambling can be kind of fun,

of it all in life in general.

[Margaux] Totally.

But I'm not, that's not where I'm at.

I want to be obsessed and be like, I, this is something

that I'm gonna wear for years to come.

I'm so convinced. It's like, say yes to the dress level.

[Margaux] Yes.

That's the one. Deal.

Yeah. That aligns with your closet ethos.

[Emma] Yeah.

So I think it really does like align with it.

[Christian] It does.

I'm glad I've arrived here. It was a long journey.

Yeah. I mean, mine is like really crazy.

I like to heart it and then make an offer.

That is my approach, always.

Yes. To everything.

Yeah.

So, but I'm also not as into designer vintage, I like sort

of like rare homemade oddities and things like that.

So like, there's a little bit less risk with like,

everyone's trying to get that calm top that you also want.

You're buying it now. I'm like, that's cool.

That's not my style.

I like this weird homemade cat circle skirt.

See, I love that too though.

Like I'm not, I'm really open.

[Margaux] Yes.

Like, I think my closet has a great mix of like,

there is some vintage designer in there,

I would like to believe tastefully chosen,

and also like, maybe you wouldn't even know.

It's like kind of like random mixed with like

random vintage work pants that just

for whatever reason fit me really perfectly.

I also am really into tailoring though now.

I've gotten really into getting things tailored.

Oh, that's fun.

Do you have the same person you go to

you're very loyal to or are you trying them on?

I have a few.

[Margaux] Okay.

I have a few tailors that I,

because I, you know, Jared and I have to tailor stuff

so often that we've ended up,

you know, working with so many wonderful tailors.

So I have like, multiple that I love all equally,

to be honest.

So it's like whoever's avail, whoever's like bored.

[overlapping chatter]

Who's chill, who wants to hang today?

[Christian] I love that.

And it is always a hang, but it makes such a difference.

[Christian] It does.

Like, I'm not like tailoring something down,

or you know, like I'm not reinventing something.

It has to be close enough, but just a little tweak.

[Margaux] Yes.

Can make a difference.

Can make such a huge difference.

And it makes you wear it more too.

[Christian] Yeah. So that's big.

I have two tailors, one that I know,

respects historic garments

and will do a proper tailor,

and one that like when I want this dress skin tight,

I mean skin tight, and I do not care

that it is a children's dress from the seventies.

Take it in.

[Emma] Yep.

Like, so someone who is here to do my bidding

and someone who's here to respect the dress.

Love. Need both. Very important.

Well, I'm sure you've done plenty of tailoring at the Met.

So let's bring up the Met.

Ooh, yes.

'Cause that's also coming up sooner than we think.

Are we, I don't know what we are

and are not allowed to say,

but if you were going to attend the Met,

would you have already picked your outfit out?

Oh, we're working.

Okay.

We're working.

We're working. We are working.

Where in the process?

We have sketches.

[Christian] Oh. Okay.

See, I mean, we're like a month and a half out.

Well, I'm really fortunate because I work with you all.

You know, I do a little bit of what y'all are doing.

I do it a little bit.

Although you both are better at it than me.

[Christian] No. No.

See, but but you're being so nice to me.

No, but I'm really fortunate that, you know how it is,

like, Met invites kind of, they're like trickling in

sometimes for some people until like the last week.

[Christian] Totally.

Brands are filling the tables.

It's a whole thing.

And I'm so fortunate that I get my sort of invite

a little earlier because I'm kind of working the day.

And so it's so cool because I get a lot of time,

although Jared, it's so funny, even before,

I don't know if I'm supposed to say this,

but even before, and maybe it's bad,

like I honestly was like anxious that Jared

did this because, but he's so, he loves the project

of the Met and he gets so excited,

and so do I and it's like, you know,

it really is such a, we are so grateful every year

we get to do it because it's such a fun project for us.

And so he really, he started before I

was even invited fully.

And he was like, like whatever.

Like we can always use it for something else.

But like, I just, and I was like, I don't know,

is this like bad karma?

[overlapping chatter]

We were jinxing it. Like, I don't know.

But it's all fine.

It ended up being, but we're just like, we're really-

So you're still excited about it?

[Emma] Really ahead.

'Cause you're like a Met veteran almost at this point.

Yeah. But I don't expect anything.

And no one ever should.

[Christian] True.

You cannot, like, you cannot assume your position.

Like every year I'm like, this could be the last year,

and that is absolutely okay with me.

I am so grateful that I've ever been able to do it.

And I am like, if I get kicked out

and I never get to go to another Met,

the fact that I got to go to, what,

this will be like my-

Yeah. What is it?

[Emma] Sixth?

Sixth.

Oh, how many have you've been to?

Almost six too, I think.

We might have had,

I feel like you've been going longer than I have.

I think this would be my sixth.

Yeah, we might be the same.

Wait, is it my seventh? No, wait.

It was, I don't know.

Sixth. I think six.

But do you still get nervous?

Oh.

[Christian] It seems nervous.

You don't seem nervous at all.

How do you prepare for like talking to celebs,

talking to people.

I mean, you're a celebrity yourself.

You do it all the time, I'm sure.

But like, on camera.

[Christian] It's a lot of pressure.

I mean, I think that something that brings me

a lot of peace, I think now at this point is

that I've done it so many times before.

It's one of those things where like,

I really want to evolve it.

I feel like really inspired by like, how can I improve this?

I think my greatest anxiety is, it's so short, you know?

[Christian] Yeah.

Like, you get two minutes with somebody right before

they're about to go out on the carpet,

and a lot of times they're nervous,

'cause they're about to walk the biggest carpet of the year.

And it's like everyone's, there's so much pressure.

You want to make everyone proud. Like I know that.

I know the feeling 'cause I do that part as well.

So it's a really interesting, it's definitely like a,

it's an interesting dynamic where you wanna be disarming.

You don't wanna like overwhelm people with questions.

They're not necessarily like, perfectly prepared for it.

[Christian] Right.

But then also too, you wanna ask interesting questions.

[Christian] Yeah.

But then you also don't wanna like,

put somebody in a, the Met is such,

it's such like a, the theme is so complex

and there's like, there's so much complexity

to the event and all this.

So you also don't wanna like bombard somebody-

[overlapping chatter]

[Margaux] Get into it in a way where they're-

But you also wanna know how they're, look relates.

It's this dance.

And I think I would like to believe

that every year I get better at it.

I really, this year I'm manifesting like exponential growth.

I wanna lock in this here.

Lock in.

I'm ready.

And maybe I'm jinxing myself

and you all can hold me accountable

and say you did not lock in.

You said you were going to and you didn't.

But I was gonna ask you, 'cause you're so great

obviously at creating these viral moments on the carpet.

We can talk about Jack Harlow, but we won't.

But I'm sure you've been asked a million times.

Yeah. Yeah, people love it, people love that moment.

You know, can you plan like these amazing viral moments?

Or is it really just like, you gotta hope

and pray that you really vibe with someone?

Or how does that work?

Like you really are good at creating

these amazing moments on the carpet.

To be honest, if you wanna know

what the real experience is for me, who knows what people

will think of this.

But my approach is fully feel-based, based on the exact,

and I don't want to plan ahead

because I know how complicated the situation is,

emotionally, timing wise, all of this.

And so it's like, I want to be like,

I want to make sure I check all the boxes I need to check

and then, you know, so it's very spur of the moment

and going off of people's answers, what they say,

Does it seem like they wanna keep it surface level?

They don't wanna dig into anything right now.

And they also don't wanna talk about the day they've had.

They just wanna like talk about the look and-

Get on out.

Because, and sometimes that's the way it is.

And that's totally understandable and great.

Sometimes people, I can feel like, oh, people are looser.

And then I just have fun with it and let loose and play

and hope that the editors don't cut my jokes

'cause they were too funny 'cause sometimes that happens.

Everyone's laughing too hard at me.

[Emma] A little too hard.

I'm being a little too silly

That that happens me a lot with this podcast.

It's fine.

But it's like, but honestly though,

I think that's how you create viral moments.

You cannot plan it. You cannot.

[Christian] Yeah.

And because the audience can weirdly feel that.

They wanna feel like they caught something.

[Christian] Right.

[Margaux] Yeah.

So if there's like any sort of feeling of,

if anything feels remotely manufactured

that will not go viral.

You never know it's gonna go viral.

I swear every time in my, every viral moment I've had,

there haven't been that many, but it's like every moment,

it's been completely unpredictable.

You're like, that? That was the moment.

[Emma] I know.

Like the Jack Harlow, I would've never, whatever,

which is super cool.

I mean, I think but that's also the magic

of like not going in with a super rigid plan.

Like I think we were able to riff

'cause we just had that energy.

Totally.

And but again, like that's also not necessary

in every interview.

You're not gonna have that in every interview.

Some are gonna be a bit more professional.

And I think that that can also be interesting

and intriguing in its own way.

[Christian] Totally. Totally.

So obviously in beauty and wellness editor,

I wanna know, what are you, do you do anything to prep?

Are you getting facials?

[Christian] Oh yeah.

Are you meditating to get your cortisol down?

[Christian] Yes.

What is your sleep score if you are trackings it?

Tell me. Pre-Met, post-Met.

I don't care. Just like in your life.

[Christian] Oh yeah. I love it.

But also when you have a big event like this, like,

I'm going to get facials and I'm working downstairs

like typing away on my little laptop,

'cause I'm like, I wanna look pretty in the building.

Yeah, no, I mean, it's also like fun to like get into the,

I don't know, it's a really glamorous, like exciting,

it almost feels like a pageant.

Totally.

And like I really enjoy the sort of,

the novelty of that experience.

And I'm not aloof to sort of like,

how in some ways ridiculous.

I think it's like, it can be almost ridiculous.

The prep, the drama of like putting together

this look when it's like, but it is so much fun

and it is such a special thing.

So I like, I don't, I don't think there's anything wrong

with leaning into it.

No.

And I definitely do-

[Christian] Okay, tell me. I love it.

I will say in general, I definitely am weirdly

like a secretly health and wellness girly.

[Christian] Oh, let's hear it.

But like, in the way that I, like, you know,

I drink my electrolytes.

I love my hot yoga.

[Christian] Yeah.

I love walking. I walk a lot.

[Margaux] Okay.

That's like something that's coming

with the rotation the last year and a half.

[overlapping chatter]

It's 20?

Oh God. 20 is ridiculous.

I was gonna say, I was like, oh, I can't.

No, it's 10 for me.

[Margaux] Okay.

[Christian] Ten's good.

And I try to walk outside, get the vitamin D going.

That's very important to me.

You know, I try to cook my own meals as much as possible.

Lots of fiber going.

Oh, okay. The protein.

[overlapping chatter]

She's the protein queen.

[Emma] Oh, are you?

Ask her anything?

I talked about fiber in a meeting like a year ago

and everyone's like, you freak.

And I was like, it's gonna be huge.

Everyone's gonna be talking about it.

We should be talking about it first.

Oh, you're saying protein?

No, fiber.

[Emma] Oh, you're saying fiber. Okay.

But I have fiber also.

I mean, I was obsessed with creatine.

I'm like very fascinated by all of these bodybuilder,

like foundational blocks sort of being sexified.

And I don't like it when they are rebranded for women.

Like, I find it when someone's like creatine for a woman.

I find that very offensive. I don't need it in a gummy bear.

[Emma] Totally.

I'm going to eat it the way I should, in a little tablet

Sorry. I kind of want it in the gummy bear.

[Margaux] Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah.

[Christian] I love the little gummy.

My melatonin, I'm sorry. It's in a chocolate.

It's in a chocolate.

[Margaux] Okay, good. Yeah.

I love my little candy.

[Margaux] Is it the Alice one?

It's the, I think it's like Good Days brand or something.

Listen, I can drop a link for you,

'cause let me tell you, it's like a little M&M.

I eat two of them.

I ate two of them before I fell asleep

on the plane last night.

I'm a magnesium girl for sleep. I love the magnesium.

I like, I mean, the amount of supplements, like when I go

through TSA, they hear me like rattling-

[overlapping chatter]

because I bring the full bottle of each supplement.

It's a whole bag in the bag.

I get it. I have a jar, I have thiamin in my bag.

I have, for anxiety.

[Margaux] Yes, totally.

My mom, I don't even know if it works,

but my mom was like, you are an anxious girl.

Are you taking it like this [indistinct] or in a liquid.

Is it like a goop or it's a pill?

No, it's pill.

Okay. I wanna ask about forbidden fruit.

[Emma] Yes.

Because you've made your acting debut recently.

Will you tell us what that experience was like?

It was so interesting.

I think it was like the perfect introduction to acting

for me in a great, like, experience because it

was the perfect size.

Like it was a gorgeously petite role, you know what I mean?

Gorgeously petite.

I got to pop in, experience it, and pop out.

Was it a day, like a day shoot?

[Emma] It was two days.

Okay.

I think I was there for like two and a half days.

Like whatever.

But shooting for two days and, which is so short.

[Christian] Love that.

And everybody else was there for like a month.

I really wanted to experiment with it,

try it in a way that was petite, you know what I mean?

Like a bit more, because I wanna make sure that I'm,

I don't wanna be taking a lead role

and not be ready for that.

[Margaux] Yeah. Yeah.

But I also think too, how do you know how you feel

about the experience until you do it?

[Christian] Yeah.

Like you can only prep so much

and understand so much before you just kind

of gotta throw yourself into the deep end.

[Christian] Of course.

And I mean, I loved it.

I really love the structure.

I'm really used to doing everything myself in my life

and career for the most part.

And so this was really cool to like step

into somebody else's vision and kind of let go.

And like, I'm not choosing my outfits really.

I mean, I did have a little bit of control,

but it was like, it's not me.

I'm being somebody else. You know what I mean?

I'm dressing as somebody else.

The glam is everything was like-

Did you find that easier than you expected

to be like a character?

Well I guess I do do that a lot,

especially in like going to Fashion Week, editorial shoots.

I definitely, but that's definitely a different type

of character, right?

[Margaux] Yeah.

Like, that's almost like it's a bit more,

it's a bit more sexy.

You know what I mean?

It's a bit, it's like, whereas this was not as much,

this was like I'm turning into

a completely different person.

Yeah. Literal character.

Not like a built up version of me.

But I really enjoyed that and I really enjoyed

the whole experience.

I thought it was like, I felt more comfortable

than I thought I would,

and whether or not I did a good job

is up to debate.

You all can debate that.

[overlapping chatter]

[indistinct] as we're recording this,

which is really cool, I'm honestly embarrassed

about my kissing scene 'cause I think,

I had a kissing scene and lemme tell you,

I can't watch it, so I never know.

[Margaux] Wait, wait.

I go like this.

Wait, how do you prepare for a kissing scene

in a movie and [indistinct], sorry.

No, actually I was like, shockingly chill about it

because I was like, at the time that we shot it,

like I was fully in a relationship.

[Christian] Yeah.

And I was like joking around about it with my boyfriend

at the time and like, he was like, You got this.

He was like, do you wanna practice?

I was like, I dunno, what do I do?

But then I showed up and like,

and the dude I shot it with, he was so cool.

And we just like, we're like, let's just have fun with it.

It's like not a big deal. It's not that deep.

And also, like, we don't like each,

it doesn't matter if we think the other's a good kisser,

who cares, because it's just like, who cares.

But it's weird to like act while kissing.

It's like, was that kiss me? No.

[Margaux] Yeah.

That wasn't like a me kiss.

I don't kiss like that.

[Christian] Right.

So I think that's why it made me cringe too,

'cause I was like, already I wouldn't,

I've never seen myself kiss anyone before anyway.

But then it wasn't even a me kiss.

It was an acted kiss.

[Christian] Right.

So then I was like, Ew, who is that?

And I can't see it.

But I think everybody struggles with seeing that.

It really pushed me outta my comfort zone in a way

that was really inspiring.

And I don't know what I'm gonna do next in the acting.

[overlapping chatter]

Hey, you never know.

I have no clue.

I'm really in an intuitive phase

of my career right now where I'm like,

I have a lot of experimenting to do, to be honest,

for this next phase.

I'm an adult now.

Prefrontal cortex, locked in.

I'm almost 25 in May.

And so I'm a completely different person

and I need to like-

That's a transformative age, I'll say.

It is.

But the internet, it's like, oh, it's really scary to like,

be on the precipice of what's next on the internet.

'Cause it's like, oh, I might need to pull back

for a second and figure it out.

And I've been like trying to do that for so many years.

[Margaux] Yeah.

But I've never been able to do it all the way.

And so it's, I'm in a weird moment here, but I'm stoked.

I feel really inspired though.

and excited to just try new things and, hey, you know,

if I get bullied hard enough out of something,

then I'll just try the next thing.

And that's how you started showering.

And that when I started,

and that's when I took my first shower.

Okay. Now we're gonna play our game.

We have like a little this or that.

So maybe Christian and I'll switch off.

Yes. Okay.

So it's all vintage themed.

Okay. And I'm gonna keep my answer short.

Or do you want me to elaborate?

No?

You can elaborate a little bit.

[Emma] Okay. I elaborate too much.

Like petite roll in a petite elaboration.

Perfect.

[Margaux] Okay. Go first.

I'll start. Vintage bags or vintage shoes.

Vintage bags.

[Margaux] Yeah. Okay.

No, no. Final answer.

Final answer. You're locked in.

Actually, vintage shoes.

Vintage shoes.

[Margaux] Oh wait.

Vintage shoes 'cause I don't like putting like my,

like stuff, I don't mind my foot being near something

that's maybe more used and stuff.

The bag sometimes will like, smell like cigarettes

and stuff and I struggle with that a bit more.

Oh my God. When I find a tissue in a vintage bag,

it like really makes it very-

No, it's tough.

Also too, I like will like put my phone in there

and then put my phone up to my face

so it's a bit more intimate.

So I would rather have a new bag.

Great. Great.

That's my answer.

Why am I talking so fast?

Vintage Levi's or vintage Wranglers.

Levi's.

[Margaux] Okay.

I kinda a Levi's girl too. I'm with you.

Ooh, this is gonna be a hard one for you.

Vintage JPG or vintage Galliano.

Two hot one's on the market.

[Christian] I own more JPG. Okay.

So I'm gonna say JPG.

Vintage leather or vintage denim.

Ooh. Leather.

Leather, because I do love leather

and I prefer to have it vintage.

[Margaux] Yes, totally.

Whereas like denim, I'm not necessarily opposed to

a gorgeous new pair of denim.

[Margaux] Yes, totally.

If it was like made so beautifully, whatever.

But I do love vintage denim, so that's hard.

Okay. Vintage Chanel, vintage Hermès?

Two of the most luxurious brands in the world.

You know what's wild?

You don't own either.

I have one. Barely.

I don't, I'm thinking I'm gonna go with Chanel.

No, no, no, I'm not.

I'm going with Hermès.

Hermès.

Yeah, 'cause I actually have a really cool tote bag

that I love that is vintage.

That's my answer.

Okay, so to close, we wanna just know a quick hit

on what your cultural diet is right now.

Is there anything that you're loving?

Is it that you're reading something?

Are you listening to something?

Is there a song you can't get outta your head?

I was saying I'm learning the Midnight Suns

or a Larson dance right now.

[overlapping chatter]

Are you gonna learn it with me and do it at the Met?

What's happening?

Okay. Well obviously I need to get,

see I'm so off the internet.

I don't scroll on anything.

The only thing I do is watch YouTube.

And I watch the most random,

random things on YouTube, so it couldn't be more random.

Like, I can't even give you like a genre

'cause it's like it changes every day.

But I'll like watch like a video essay on Applebee's,

and then, then my next video will be like a new music video

from like an artist that I like know one song from,

and for some reason the algorithm knew

that I'd wanna see that music video.

It is very random.

[Christian] Okay.

I will say my favorite song right now,

Heavy Metal Drummer by Wilco.

Weird, weird. It also is like about me.

[Margaux] Okay.

I feel like I love that song as a kid-

'Cause you fell in love with a drummer.

I mean, I'm always falling in love with a drummer.

[overlapping chatter]

I'm sorry, this is my time, but no more so,

there's like a line that's like,

well I heard the song again.

It was like one of my favorite songs as a kid.

And I heard the song again

because my dad used to play it around me.

[Margaux] Cool.

And then I heard it again as an adult.

And it was something like,

Shiny pants and bleach blonde hair,

and I was like, this is my song right now.

I was like, that's so me. But also it's a great song.

[Christian] Great song.

So I'm like on repeat, the plane's taking off.

I'm having flight anxiety, Heavy Metal Drummer.

She fell in love with the drummer, dah-dah-dah,

she fell in love.

Everything's fine.

Love. You need to listen to The Mountain Goats.

I think you would like them from Denton, Texas.

They're really good. Like lo-fi Wilco.

Done. Streaming.

Streaming tonight.

Well, on that note, thank you so much for coming.

[Emma] I don't wanna leave.

I know. Me neither.

Just stay for three more hours.

I'll be back in a week.

I'll be back in a week. We'll do this again.

Perfect. Amazing.

Thank you so much for joining us on The Run-Through.

Yes, we'll see you at the Met.

We'll see you on the red carpet.

We'll see you at Fashion Week.

Yeah, totally.

[Christian] Who knows?

Who knows. This is just the beginning of us.

[Christian] There we go.

Oh, I think so too.

Okay, good. Love you both.

[Christian] Okay.

[gentle upbeat music]
