I eat Chinese food probably more often than I should.
All my friends have this joke that
they won't even invite me out to dinner or whatever
unless it's like Asian food.
This is a tradition, coming to En,
but happy to have my entire family,
actually my dad's not here yet, but in town.
And yeah, hopefully they're gonna enjoy the show tonight.
I really started this thinking
about this collectsion as a personal story,
not only about how I got to New York
but how I got to America.
And I had taken a family trip recently,
and it was kind of crazy that it was the first time
I'd asked my parents about their story
when they first arrived as immigrants.
And it was so inspiring,
and for it to be something that really
started the kickoff of the entire collectsion,
rock and roll music,
football,
motorcycle culture,
and then taking this idea of chinoiserie
and maybe fabrications and motifs that feel more
precious and kind of really just juxtaposing them
and kind of creating a new language.
In the football section,
I was really inspired by these,
when you go to football games and the camaraderie
and that kind of high-energy, high impact of fans
and so, we're going to do few kind of painted faces,
loosely inspired by different flags
and again motifs from the collectsion.
Hi guys, it's Kaia and Bella.
And where are we?
We're at Alexander Wang, darling.
Enjoy the show.
I was just really inspired by
the origins of where I came from
and what America's meant for me
and to have it be really inclusive
and it's always been diverse,
it's always been people,
there's never been that filter or that boundary.
And so, I wanted to celebrate that
and hopefully put it on a platform
that people can really engage with and enjoy.
