Well, good evening.
If you are, depending on where you are,
good afternoon, good morning, good evening,
and it's a pleasure to fly to Volaris
together with you today.
It's a privilege and a pleasure for me.
Volaris in this international dimension
in the dimension of creativity and beauty.
And, I happen to be an MD.
So, I am an MD by education,
an immunologist by vocation,
and the community of immunologists worldwide
the Federation of Immunologists,
I happen to serve as the president
of the federation
for a few years.
And our motto is, Immunology no borders.
And I would say
science no borders,
biomedical research at the service of humanity.
No borders.
And this very place
and what we have been part of tonight
has no borders.
No borders.
To leave you a sense of what no borders means
in the life a medical doctor and scientist
like myself,
yesterday morning
I was in a long conference with India.
In the afternoon with colleagues,
in US, uh, Argentina, Brazil, Mexico,
Latin America,
and this is my coffee break.
Is my coffee break.
I'm actually on a call
in Boston, uh with friends and colleagues in a
in Australia.
And what is that for.
So what?
Well, we're doing that
because this is the best way
to serve creativity in science.
And beauty and creativity has no borders.
And we have a sense of that here
and I think that beauty and creativity
again there is no border
between science and beauty and creativity.
The people know me, know that
I usually use paintings from my favorite artists
from Caravaggio to Caravaggisti Kandinsky
in my lectures.
And I do think
that there is beauty in our whole activity
when we do biomedical research,
when we do genetics on COVID,
as we did here
when the immune response to
the second immune response to COVID,
when we use the most sophisticated technology
including artificial intelligence
whether it's a heart and beauty
in artificial intelligence.
So the message that I get from Volaris
from flying with you,
from Volaris
is a message that I would like
to leave you with is that
biomedical research, medicine, education,
this is a university,
education
beauty, or better, the quest
for biomedical innovation
the quest for for creativity and beauty
should walk,
should fly actually
together.
Should Volaris together
hands in hands,
at the service of health, education,
better health, and humankind
and humanity.
Thank you for being part of this flight.
Thank you.
Grazie.
