Paris, Mon Amour: Grace Hartzel Works the Chicest Looks of The Fall Season
Released on 09/30/2020
[sharpener crunchs]
[Hamish] After some deliberation,
noted American fashion model Grace Hartzel,
decided it was time to walk down a different path
than the catwalks of Europe she was used to.
[orchestral music plays]
She informed her agent immediately.
[phone beeps] Who was understanding
if not enthusiastic of the achord.
[telephone rings] over the next five days,
Grace would attempt a number
of different vocational roles,
for which she felt her unique professional skillset--
Yes.
[Hamish] maybe better suited.
[orchestral music plays]
[files thuds]
This is time varying between photo shoots
but encouraged an interest in the operational side
of publishing.
[Girl in black trousers] Called for me?
[Hamish] But Grace Hartz,
since elementary school--
Right now.
[Hamish] found her mind wandered during activities
that were more administrative in nature.
[orchestral music plays]
Proximity to beauty was an attractive feature
of any prospective work Grace wished to undertake.
Hi?
I'd like a bouquet,
something simple please.
I've got just what you need.
[Hamish] It was the accidental acquisition
of a library book on Ikebana at age 12,
that helped to marry her appreciation
for form with function.
Nevertheless, her approaches
to floral arrangement veered toward the abstract
she struggled to maintain a Cleon towel.
[orchestral music plays]
Sensing flowers were not her forte.
Grace was fortunately a dedicated follower of fromage.
She had in fact first been scouted
at a factory producing cheesecake
in the Missouri mold, aged 15.
Am having some friends over later
and I was just wondering what your [mumbles] would bring.
Hmm.
[Hamish] And if there was one unflinching truth
that the world of fashion had instilled
in Grace from her first trip down the runway
was 'the great taste is timeless.'
[orchestral music plays]
At a party when she was 19,
an acquaintance commended Grace's eye for color.
She had since quietly believed
this capability might be translated
into making art.
[Grace] Don't move, don't breathe.
No, no.
Feel that.
[orchestral music plays fast]
No, no.
Everyone leave.
[orchestral music plays fast]
Who am I?
I'm the office.
Look, look at her.
Look at me.
[Hamish] If not professionally,
then at least as a devoted hobbyist
who might show in a smaller no less reputable
second tier city gallery.
[orchestral music plays]
[screams]
[orchestral music plays]
[Hamish] She considered her options on this rainy day
in the most beautiful city in the world.
Grace figured that the most rewarding jobs,
[phone beeps] are the ones that feel
the least like work.
And in that moment, Grace Hartzel realized
she was exactly where she needed to be,
moving forwards one foot in front of the other.
This was the skill that came most
effortlessly to her after all.
