[Tim] How is this new collectsion personal to you?

I am really attached and the cruise is a personal thing

because it was my debut and my first collectsion

in Ready-to-Wear for Gucci one year ago

and so it is a sort of good luck for me.

In this collectsion I was trying to describe the

St. Tropez feeling and mood during the 60.

What's the importance of the cruise collectsion

now for Gucci?

The full winter collectsion is delivered on June,

and so we start for four months in the stores.

And after that I think is a good opportunity to refresh,

to wardrobe the stores with the new pieces that can

reminds you that, in a way, summer is around the corner.

[Tim] How is it as a creative opportunity as well?

This collectsion I found an incredible source

and I get lot of fun trying to rework on old prints

and old design like the flora print that I rework it as

a different color in these attitude of white and blue,

ivory and indigo blue, ivory and fuchsia color.

And then, that can represent in a way the feeling

of the Mediterranean sea.

[Tim] The silhouettes are very definite.

I try to introduce a very short silhouette,

and very maxi, but never above the ankle.

This dress is good for the morning to have a nice walk

on the beach and should be good as well for the evening

at the sunset to have a cocktail with your friends.

with dresses like that.

But you've also done your city suit,

the Frida signature suit.

Yes, because I think it's important also

to create a balance in a result collectsion,

in the cruise collectsion

because is important give this idea of

nonchalant, easiness, easy to wear,

because you are of course in holidays.

But at the same time, also building a collectsion

we need always to

take care of more formal and suit part.

I work with material like straw, with embroidery on top,

with bamboo tassels,

because I see that bamboo again is a strong element,

is a strong icon from our traditions.

In terms of shape, there are a lot of new totes,

or a lot of bowling bag with nylon

with this Gucci script in rubber.

To me was important also in the cruise collectsion

to develop that in a way, this is very easy to wear.

But if you are going to look in the detail

they are always very rich and very sophisticated.
