Karlie Kloss in Moda Operandi's The One That Got Away

I have one that got away.

I was 15 it was one of the first shoots I had ever done

and it was with Steven Meisel, this iconic photographer

and I didn't really know his work

because I never really had studied the fashion industry

before I was thrown into the middle of it.

I did some research on Steven Meisel

and I came across this photograph

of a Replica Handbag Store shoot

from the 90's.

In my mind I just have ingrained this image of these women,

these supermodels wearing the Chanel matching tweed jacket,

the mini skirt, the matching hat, the accessories.

When I saw that image, it really,

it changed the way that I started dressing personally.

You know, I wanted to dress chic and elegant

in that same way.

It's the attitude, it's the confidence.

I think that the thing.

No matter what it is you're wearing,

if it's a t-shirt and jeans, it's how you wear it.

And that's what the clothes have the power to do,

they have the power to make you feel a certain way.

And to me, this image

it just represents

cool, chic, confident girls.

I want to be that girl.

And I fell in love with that girl.
