I'm Kate Young and I'm a stylist.
These pants from Dillard's are a great buy for fall
because they have two of the trends in one, really.
They're a high waisted pant, so you have a new silhouette.
The belt loops here so you can use a thick belt
or a thin belt with them, and they also have a wider leg
which is also a good look for fall.
This is an easier to wear pant for a lot of women too.
One of the first ways that I'd say this could be worn
is really sort of fashion-forward way
with a checked shirt like this tucked in,
and then I would recommend rolling up the pants
to about mid calf and wearing them with a high heel.
I love this look, I think it's fun,
It's sort of masculine.

Here's a striped t-shirt that would look really good
with a little menswear style black blazer.
In this instance I like it if the blazer's
a little shrunken because the pants
are a little bit wider in the leg.
These striped shirts, they're iconic style classics.
It's like, you know, a French girl on the street
with red lips in a striped shirt's like
one of the greatest looks ever.

I also really like the idea of pairing this gray pant
with a men's style shoe and then a striped
button down shirt and raincoat.
Something like a classic khaki colored cotton trench.
Dillard's has a rogue style shoe with menswear details.
Paired with a trouser that's hemmed
to about this height, it looks like a flat,
but you have the height of a heel,
which is like a nice illusion.
It has a little bit more of a preppy feeling,
but it's really nice for the office
or even for the weekend, and it's just a very
clean and classic way to wear this trouser.
The good thing about a high waisted trouser
is that it can be worn with a shirt tucked in
so that you can see that it's high waisted
and it looks very trendy, but you can also
just wear it with a shirt over top
and, you know, it looks like a regular pant.
