Cooking allows for the celebration of
those little moments.
[cork pops] [happy music]
My name is Camille Becerra.
I'm a chef in New York City
currently developing my new cookbook.
Today, I'm developing the last recipe of the book
and I'm having my agent come for a meeting
and celebrate the ending of this very big chapter.
My Life in Cooking is all about being spontaneous
with the ingredients that are available at the market
and what I pair them with.
The thing that I'm most inspired by is tapping into
this artistic stream that empowers you
to be creative without any fear.
There's something really important
about trusting your dream.
In my cookbook,
I have a lot of really wonderful, easy sauces.
We're making a peanut sauce.
What I like to do is peel the ginger
and then slice it, crosswise,
so you're cutting all that fiber.
I like to chop everything really well,
and then I'm gonna put in
about a half a cup of peanut butter,
some seeds, and a good amount of lemon.
[blender engine whirring]
And then I'm gonna start cutting my crudite.
The beauty about working with vegetables
is that you don't have to do a lot to them,
especially if you're working with quality ingredients
that you're sourcing from the market.
They just have beautiful, natural flavors.
[doorbell rings] What brings me
the most joy in my work is bringing people together.
Hi! Hi!
One thing that people
share in New York City is their love of food
and the love that you feel when you eat well.
So let's take this over there.
I wanna have you taste it and let's celebrate.
Perfect, my favorite part.
Prosecco. Ooh!
When I create a dinner,
it is about having people discover something new
and leave with a sense of inspiration
that they want to replicate.
[cork pops] [liquid pouring]
Thank you, Kathleen, for everything you've done
and all your hard work.
Cheers to you and our team effort.
[glasses clinking] Cheers, mmm.
