Mariah Carey: The Diva on Nesting

We are in my closet right now in my New York apartment.

I don't think I did it intentionally,

but there probably is a sense of drama

and a sense of grandeur, the chandeliers.

When I was pregnant with Roc and Roe,

all I did was cook and make floral arrangements,

yes, that was my nesting or whatever they called it.

I hated it when people said nesting,

it bothered me so bad, I was like,

why must we say this, do we not all love flowers?

I don't know, am I, is that wrong?

I thought everybody loved to get flowers.

This is my gardening attire,

Tom Ford wanted me to garden in this.

I think roses are also really beautiful.

Everybody that came over to the house,

like, I made food for them.

My best thing is my, well, I can't,

it's between two different sauces, I won't give it away.

You have to stand over the stove

after you've already done your hair and makeup,

why would you want to foil that

and be sweaty and everything else,

and then, you know, people are there and you're making food.

So if you can use your time wisely,

then I guess it would be some kind

of dish that I can't eat, like pasta.
