Hey, guys, it's Giselle, backstage at Valentino.
Have fun.

I'm Pierpaolo Piccioli, we are at
fall/winter Valentino ready-to-wear show.
I started this collectsion thinking of poetry
because poetry, it's kind of similar to couture.
When you think Valentino,
you used to think couture a lifestyle.
I prefer to think about the community of people
that can share values like poetry,
because at the very end,
we all are looking for emotions and dreams.
When I saw The Movement for Emancipation of the Poetry,
which is a movement that celebrate
the power of the words, the power of the poems,
I reflected about this idea.
I work in this collectsion with these four poets,
plus with Jun Takahashi from Undecover
to give it a sort of system of people
talking about romanticism and love in modern times.
When you think Valentino, poetry, romance, love,
you easily can go in such a known territory.
I wanted to go for something
unexpected and something more kind of street wear
because what I love from the movement of the poetry
is that the poetry is in the street, it's not in the book.
And I want to get the couture and the romance in the street,
like a sweatshirt but balance it with the couture coats.
The finale looks, I wanted to deliver
a kind of lightness and romanticism.
No construction and no corset,
just with the ease of a T-shirt
but the beauty and the prettiness of ruffles.
So my name is Mustafa.
Hi guys, I'm Robert Montgomery.
Hi, I'm Greta Bellamacina
and we're here backstage at the Valentino show.
These were new poems submitted by Pierpaolo on love.
I made a large light installation for Pierpaolo's show.
Actually, Pierpaolo chose the text.
It's a piece of mine that says,
The people you love become ghosts inside of you,
and like this, you keep them alive.
It was quite an honor to work with
Pierpaolo on this collectsion.
My pieces were stitched and embroidered
on different dresses and gowns and jackets.
Yeah, I think Valentino's really like,
it always has this air of really old school romance
and I think what he's done this season,
blending the world of poetry into the clothes
really makes this lovely poetic space,
so you find little poems within the garments
and I love that kind of idea of discovering
and I love the idea that a dress can be almost like a book.
When I was thinking about this collaboration,
I was thinking that I wanted love to take
as many forms as possible,
and so on these garments and in all these interpretations,
it was meant to break barriers,
not in the capacity of of which we love,
but the ways in which we love.
I love how the book is almost
like a little French notebook.
And this is something quite timeless and eternal
when you put poetry and bring it into a new space.
Hey.
We're here at Valentino and I'm Janelle Monáe.
I thought it was just stunning.
I love the poetry that was blended in, the music.
Michel, who curated the music, is a friend of mine
and so talented, I just thought it was a perfect marriage.
And the women looked stunning.
I love how diverse it was
just in terms of the types of women
who were representing each look.
As an artist, coming here, seeing this
is deeply inspiring to me.
