It's been a big day in fashion so far.

It was announced that Donatella Versace is being named

the chief brand ambassador of Versace,

and she has a new chief creative officer.

His name is Dario Vitale, late of Miu Miu,

and not just that,

Demna was announced as the new artistic director of Gucci

after 10 really incredible years at Balenciaga.

So what do you two make of all that?

Well, I have to say, you know,

there's been a lot of announcements

about various creative directors at various brands

over the past few months,

but the Demna news, I mean,

people in the office were shocked

and like visibly excited to be talking about that news.

So, I mean, that one was, I think,

a little more of a surprise than some of the others,

and across the board,

everyone seems very, very excited about

the possibilities he brings to that brand.

It feels like this, in retrospect, an obvious choice.

He works at Kering, it's right there,

he's such a talent and so successful,

and yet it feels like a surprise all at the same time.

Everyone was sort of like, Yes, [both laughing],

it was, you know,

it was like a very positive reaction to it,

which is always, I think, really nice to see, you know?

You can't wait to see what that first show

is gonna be, right?

Immediately.

Of course, Donatella is, her role is changing,

but she's not leaving her own company,

and she is the chief brand ambassador,

which is something she always, of course, has been.

There's no one who could be more Versace

than Donatella Versace.

In a way, it also opens up this idea of,

what else is she gonna do?

You know, like, what could she do

with maybe more time on her hands

to go be Versace in other ways?
