In Eiza González’s April Vogue cover story interview, the actress describes her role as “a Latin woman representing Latin women.” Effectively, González’s on-screen m.o. is being herself above all else, and the 28-year-old Mexico City native has been very successful in that realm. Since starting her career at age 13, González has gone on to star in several telenovelas and, as of late, has found work in major supporting roles for the films Alita: Battle Angel and Baby Driver.
González’s approach to acting also translates into bold and beautiful red carpet choices. At the Oscars last year, she wore a highlighter-yellow gown with a bright lip and delicate droplet earrings. Meanwhile at Baby Driver’s 2017 London premiere, she went the princess route, wearing a floor-length baby blue dress with delicate flowers in the plushest shade of purple. In one particularly memorable fashion moment, González sported a choker and a tube dress with a huge print of Bambi.
When she’s not on the job, she favors laid-back and classic uniform staples. On her Instagram this winter, she posted the perfect cozy winter ensemble: a camel suit with a matching turtleneck sweater. On the street, she’s been seen wearing a short minidress with a pair of great black ankle boots, as well as the classically punk combo of black canvas sneakers and ripped-up jeans. You could say González’s star is on a meteoric rise, and her red carpet looks speak volumes. Though, at the end of the day, she’s just as comfortable in a gown as she is in a pair of jeans.
