Jennifer Lopez Ends Her Awards Season Run With $9 Million Dollars’ Worth of Jewels

Just moments before the Screen Actors Guild Awards kicked off in Los Angeles, California tonight, Jennifer Lopez arrived on the scene, marking her last appearance as a nominee this awards season. The actor, who is up for a SAG for her role in Hustlers, chose an elegant, off-the-shoulder black gown by Georges Hobeika, ending her red carpet streak on a demure Old Hollywood note. Bedecked in $9 million dollars’ worth of jewelry from Harry Winston, including a cascading 73.55 carat diamond diamond necklace set in platinum, her accessories dazzled with megastar wattage and were a powerful way to punctuate her final moment.

In a matter of weeks, Lopez has made a big impression on the 2020 awards circuit with a series of high impact looks. She was off to a flying start at the Palm Springs International Film Festival Film Awards Gala in early January, shutting down the competition in a floral gown by Richard Quinn with an extra long train that had the paparazzi flashbulbs going wild. Just days later at the Golden Globes, she went on to wear one of the most debated looks of the season, a Valentino gown with an oversized bow at the front. Lopez switched gears later that night, however, dressed in a lacey white Zuhair Murad dress with feathered trim was undeniably glamorous.

At last week Critics’ Choice Awards, her penultimate appearance, Lopez went in a markedly pared-back direction. The beige gown by Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika was subtly embellished with sparkling crystals and felt more in line with the stealthy-chic ensemble, also by Hobeika, that she wore tonight.
