Levi’s Celebrates 50 Years With Some Help From Chance the Rapper, Snoop Dogg, and Solange Knowles
As the home of denim, there was perhaps no better place than L.A. last night to fete the 50th anniversary of Levi’s iconic Trucker jacket. Celebrating the launch with a splashy event at the Levi’s Haus, the brand’s office turned performance space in West Hollywood, the evening was equal parts exhibition and performance. Before the scene-stealing musical acts began, guests were able to catch the debut of the customized jackets Levi’s commissioned for the occasion. Enlisting the likes of everyone from Virgil Abloh to Miroslava Duma, the Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw to Christine Centenera, the initiative was a celebration of the brand’s—and jacket’s—DIY spirit, as evidenced by the on-hand customization offered on the piece, ranging from airbrushing to hand-stitching, and patches and pins.
