The Best Fashion From the Palm Springs International Film Festival

Awards season really kicked off with the annual Palm Springs International Film Festival, which came to a close today. All week long, Hollywood’s top stars touched down in California for a variety of film screenings and panels—and they, of course, all walked the red carpet in style. While the event is decidedly more casual than the formal Golden Globes or Oscars, there were still a handful of statements to witness, whether it be surreal silhouettes or archival gems.

Some of the week’s best dressed attendees? Everything Everywhere All at Once star Michelle Yeoh—who picked up a Golden Globe earlier this week—made a statement when she walked the carpet in Schiaparelli’s fall 2022 couture look, consisting of a beaded jacket and voluminous silk skirt. Tár’s Cate Blanchett also embraced vintage when she wore a sleek black jumpsuit from Armani Privé’s 2009 couture collectsion. (Blanchett is a noted lover of vintage, and has even re-worn her own red carpet looks on multiple occasions.)

In Tory Burch, Viola Davis opted for a sculptural bright blue and red gown. Till’s Danielle Deadwyler was also pretty in pink while sporting Carolina Herrera’s strapless taffeta gown with a sweeping train. If these ensembles were any indication of how the rest of awards season will go, we’re in for one stylish ride.
