Sophie Turner on the Story Behind Her Louis Vuitton Gown at the SAG Awards

Last night, the 26th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards took place in Los Angeles, California. The evening’s red carpet was filled with spectacular gowns that ranged from riffs on Old Hollywood to more current, fresh-off-the-runway styles. One of the best-dressed stars of the night was Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner, whose show was nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. Turner hit the step and repeat in a custom satin gown by Louis Vuitton, accompanied by her husband Joe Jonas, easily making them the most stylish couple of the evening. Before igniting flashbulbs, however, Turner documented her getting-ready process for Vogue.

Turner, who favors Vuitton designer Nicolas Ghesquière’s designs on the red carpet, was drawn to the fiery fuchsia color of his latest SAG Awards creation. “Strapless pink in January… only in LA!,” joked Turner. Her glam team kicked off her red carpet prep: hair and makeup artists Georgie Eisdell and Christian Wood—“my A team,” Turner said—created a simple, tousled hair and a blush makeup look to accentuate the dress. Then, it was time to add the finishing touches, where Turner chose metallic accessories, including earrings and rings from the label’s High Cheap Replica Handbags Collection, to give her ensemble a glitzy awards season feel. “At least my bag fits my cell phone,” Turner said, referring to a chic (and roomy) silver clutch. A few quick photo ops outside, she then headed on to the carpet and cemented her status as one of the most striking stars of the night.
