At a London Fashion Week Party, Bvlgari Goes for the Gould

It’s played host to highly memorable moments, like benefit concerts led by George Michael and Bob Dylan, but London’s Round House Theater in Camden Town has undoubtedly never been covered in wall-to-wall twinkling gold carpet. Thanks to Bvlgari, the aged concert hall had been reworked into a glistening paradise to welcome the arrival of the Serpenti Seduttori, the appropriately serpent-shaped and diamond-encrusted timepiece that was found on the wrists of more than a few attendees during Sunday night’s celebration.

Among them, Carey Mulligan, Maya Hawke, and Lily Aldridge—who paired hers with a vintage Bvlgari necklace plucked from the maison’s rarely seen archives. “The new watch is just gorgeous, and iconic, and classic, but the chance to wear a vintage piece from their collectsion is always an honor, so I jumped on it,” she told Vogue as a duo of acrobats, clad in gold bodysuits, performed to a soulful rendition of Destiny’s Child’s iconic hit “Survivor.” Behind her, a security guard loomed, keeping a watchful eye on her priceless accessories.

They were all joined by a swarm of fashionable guests, out in full force for London Fashion Week, who indulged in poached lobster and dark chocolate truffles before carrying downstairs for a dance party that began innocently enough as crooner Eve presided from the balcony, sporting tinted tortoiseshell sunglasses and a white Valentino shift dress. “I heard this party was at the Round House tonight, and I said, ‘The Round House? In Camden? There’s no way.’ This place is so big, but the gold makes it so warm. It’s everything,” she told us. “I actually picked out this jewelry before I bought this dress, and honestly, I bought this dress because of this necklace.”

But in true form, the venue—known best for its sellout shows—had more in store. Ellie Goulding eventually took the stage, joined by her full band and a row of guitars that the newlywed would eventually work her way through as the gold-clad crowd cheered in amazement. “My earring fell off, and being at this event, it’s obviously quite crucial that I don’t lose one of these expensive things,” Goulding joked before diving into her radio hit “Love Me Like You Do,” confetti spraying down from the rafters with abandon. “Luckily, I found it—in my shirt!”
